If you’ve found that the open world in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl seemed to lack a lot of additional activities or content, you’re not the only one. In fact, GSC Game World has acknowledged this and is planning to restore some of the cut content in upcoming updates.
As we eagerly anticipate GSC officially reinstating the missing Stalker 2 content in the game, a dedicated modder has managed to beat them to it. In my gaming experience, I’ve been able to enjoy the lost elements of the game, thanks to this creative and swift action.
Experience cut Stalker 2 content
As a dedicated fan, I’ve discovered an incredible find on Nexus Mods – a collection of mods by Volucris, which when added to my Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl install, reintroduces missing missions that were originally in the base game. It’s like stepping back into a familiar yet refreshed gaming experience!
Currently, you’ll find three modifications created by the same developer that have reintroduced a selection of activities set in the Cordon region, which were previously cut. This mod includes five complete side missions, although they lack voiceovers, as well as three Encounter Quests to the location.
Moreover, the same modder introduced The Last Days, an extra mission originally meant for Noah. Lastly, Deserter brings back two abandoned Duty side quests in the game, enhancing the characters’ depth, but keep in mind that these mods do not include any voice acting.
It’s possible that additional content originally meant for Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, such as weapons, enemies, and other features, may still be included in the game beyond what has been released so far. Currently, GSC Game World is working to reintroduce two cut weapons into the game with their next update, which will also include A-Life improvements, Mutant Loot, and more – all part of their Q2 2025 plan.
Additionally, it’s worth mentioning that GSC is readying the launch of the game’s modding Development Kit (SDK). Although the existing mods for Stalker 2 are impressive, modders will have a greater scope to explore and create more with the game once the official mod tools become available.
