Zaya Wade’s newest milestone is a slam dunk.

Dwyane Wade’s daughter has now graduated from high school, and all her loved ones were present to celebrate this special moment with her, including stepmother Gabrielle Union, who wrote an affectionate message in honor of the graduate.

Zaya, you’ve handled that chapter so gracefully and bravely,” she wrote alongside Dwyane on June 14. “Seeing you grow into the remarkable, bold, and radiant young lady you are has been a wonderful experience. Alongside the star of Bring It On, a series of moments from the special day were showcased, featuring footage of Zaya confidently walking onto the stage to collect her diploma, as well as receiving this year’s Head of School award amidst thunderous applause and cheers from peers and spectators.

Other photos captured Zaya standing triumphantly following the event alongside her beaming relatives, such as siblings Dwayne Wade’s sons, Zaire Wade (age 23) and Xavier Wade (age 11), as well as Kaavia Wade (age 6), Serena Williams’ daughter, and cousin Dahveon Morris (age 23).

On her special occasion, Zaya initially wore a long black dress adorned with white underneath her graduation robe. Later, she switched to a cozy, front-fastened white dress for the post-ceremony celebrations.

For her significant event, Zaya first put on a floor-length black dress with white trim beneath her graduation attire. Afterward, she opted for a button-up white knit dress to celebrate in style following the ceremony.

Apart from that, the 18-year-old took time to acknowledge her personal triumph by posting a video clip from the graduation podium. In this footage, she beams with joy and gives a peace sign to the audience as she approaches to receive her diploma, accompanied by the caption, “I did it.

Recently, Zaya achieved another significant milestone, not long after celebrating a similar high school tradition – the senior prom. This model offered a peek into her prom night memories with some monochrome snapshots, standing with a friend and individually in a beautiful gown made of lace and tulle.

Proving he’s his daughter’s number one fan, Dwyane couldn’t help but sound off in the comments.

“Love,” the 43-year-old wrote, adding in a second comment, “We love you.”

What she’s particularly thankful for is the backing she receives from her father, who has been a constant source of support since Zaya (a person who announced her transgender identity in 2020) made this significant step in her life.

In an interview with Seventeen magazine in February, she praised Dwyane for his open and public acceptance of himself. She noted that, growing up in a traditional African American household in Chicago, the culture isn’t particularly accepting of the LGBTQ+ community. However, she expressed her hope that Dwyane’s example will encourage others to educate themselves about queerness before judging or criticizing it.
