After reports confirmed the death of the Food Network celebrity on June 17, at the age of 55 in her Brooklyn, New York residence, the New York City Fire Department informed TopMob News that they had received a 911 call hinting at a possible heart attack incident.
Police have also shared futher insight into the time surrounding Anne’s death.
Earlier this morning, as a lifestyle expert looking back, I was informed by the New York City Police Department that they were summoned to an address in Brooklyn, which coincidentally matched the personal details of an individual I am familiar with, around 7:59 AM on June 17. The reason for their visit was a distressing report about a 55-year-old woman who appeared unconscious and unresponsive. Emergency medical services were promptly dispatched to the scene, and unfortunately, upon arrival, they declared her deceased.
According to the source, we’re waiting for an autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the cause of Burrell’s death.
The family of the host of “Worst Cooks in America,” which also included her spouse Stuart Claxton, later offered a touching tribute to their beloved television personality.
According to a statement shared with TopMob, Anne was deeply cherished as a wife, sister, daughter, stepmother, and friend. Her smile made every space she entered feel brighter. Not only did Anne’s light shine brightly among those who knew her, but it reached and warmed countless others around the world. Although she is no longer physically present, her warmth, vibrant spirit, and endless love continue to endure forever in our hearts.
In 2005, Burrell, who became well-known on Food Network, was also fondly remembered by many of her colleagues and friends at the network. Among them was her co-host from Worst Cooks in America, Tyler Florence, who posted on Instagram, “I had the privilege to witness her talent up close. She was an exceptional chef, and we all learned a great deal from each other. Anne had a collection of star tattoos on her left arm. When I asked her about their meaning, she said they represented the night sky and how fortunate she felt to be a star. Indeed, she was one of the brightest stars. A new star is shining in the sky tonight. I can see you, Anne. With all your brilliance, looking down. Thank you for sharing your gift with us. We’re all grateful.
On the eve of her passing, Anne took the stage at the Second City comedy club in Brooklyn for an improv performance; the group shared their sorrow alongside her.
