In a June 16 video posted on Aunt Reese’s Instagram, the 19-year-old stated, “I truly appreciate learning from skilled professionals, and it’s particularly enjoyable when my teacher is Aunt Reese. I also found great value in learning from not just my aunt but the fantastic group of women she interacts with.
Abby, who is the eldest daughter of John Witherspoon (Reese’s brother), posted videos on set during filming, showing the Legally Blonde actress getting ready with hair and makeup, her aunt’s pet dog roaming about, and the crew busy throughout the day.
She shared that we also marked a producer’s birthday by enjoying cupcakes, she said while holding the sweet treat. “One of the best aspects of working on set is that you’ll never feel hungry,” she added. “Sometimes, there are even flowers and dogs around. I had an incredible day. Thanks, Aunt Reese!

Unimpressed, she contacted her agent, expressing her disapproval: “This is terrible,” she said, “I won’t watch it, I don’t want my daughter to see it, and I have no intention of being associated with the casting for this project.
The Oscar recipient stated, “My representative told me, every actress in Hollywood is eager for this role,” she added. “That moment was truly enlightening for me, as I came to understand that when women aren’t involved from the very start of scriptwriting and filmmaking – shaping the narratives and concepts – essentially, those stories don’t represent or resonate with their experiences.
