Approximately six well-known DC villains are anticipated to appear in the second season of Peacemaker, a solo series starring John Cena on HBO Max, which is produced by DC Studios. After a hiatus of more than three years, this series will finally be part of James Gunn’s broader DC Universe. As we move forward, it seems that Cena’s beloved antihero character will face numerous obstacles.
In the confirmed Season 2 of “Peacemaker,” six significant antagonists from various realms within the DC Universe are expected. Joining this thrilling band of new heroes – Green Lantern, Hawkgirl, and Vigilante – will be a formidable team of villains aiming to bring down our series’ wealthy, self-assured protagonist.
This year, John Cena’s character in the series Peacemaker, under the guidance of director James Gunn, is set to return for another action-packed season. The storyline will continue from where it left off in The Suicide Squad and Season 1 of Peacemaker. In this upcoming season, we’ll see Peacemaker grappling with his past as he strives to be a hero, while simultaneously evading those who seek to bring him down. The first episode of Season 2 will air on August 21.
Every DC Villain in Peacemaker Season 2
White Dragon
In a surprise to numerous DC enthusiasts, the initial trailer for Peacemaker‘s second season hinted at the return of the White Dragon, played by Robert Patrick in the previous season. This character is notorious as Peacemaker’s father, Auggie Smith, who has a history with white supremacy, being deeply rooted in the Ku Klux Klan, and regularly mistreated and humiliated his son, constantly belittling and shaming him.
In a peek at the production of Season 2, viewers caught a glimpse of a revamped White Dragon character. Instead of its traditional red outfit, it now donned a blue one. As of yet, it remains undisclosed who is concealed beneath the new costume, although speculation suggests it might be Patrick’s character, Auggie Smith, resurrected from the dead. However, his role could also be for dream or nightmare scenes, as seen in the Season 1 finale. Fans are eagerly awaiting more details on the part he plays.
Red St. Wild
In the upcoming “Peacemaker 2”, Michael Rooker – often seen in films directed by James Gunn – will introduce a fresh character named Red St. Wild, marking his debut in the DC Universe. This newly created character is unique to the current live-action DC Universe, rather than being based on a pre-existing comic book character from DC Comics.
According to Gunn’s portrayal, Red St. Wild is famously recognized as the top eagle hunter globally, who has set his sights on eliminating Christopher Smith’s dearest companion, Eagly. While more information about Red remains confidential for now, his tale promises to be an exhilarating adventure as he pursues one of Season 1’s most beloved characters.
Judomaster
In the upcoming Season 2 of “Peacemaker,” we can expect the return of Nhut Le’s character, Judomaster, another beloved figure from the series. Initially appearing as Senator Royland Goff’s bodyguard, Judomaster demonstrated a menacing presence and formidable martial arts abilities during his confrontations with Peacemaker. Originally allied with the Butterflies, he showcased his remarkable fighting skills against our protagonist.
Following his escape from confinement, it remains to be seen what part Judomaster will assume in Season 2. There’s a possibility that he might emerge as either an adversary or an ally for the primary team of heroes. Regardless, there’s no doubt that there will be plenty of thrilling action scenes to anticipate.
Maxwell Lord
Following his introduction in the movie “Superman”, Sean Gunn will reappear in a second live-action performance for the latest DCU in “Peacemaker” Season 2, portraying the character of Maxwell Lord within this universe. This is actually his third distinct role in the DCU, having previously taken on the characters Weasel, Calendar Man, and G.I. Robot in both “The Suicide Squad” and “Creature Commandos”.
At present, we don’t have much information about Maxwell Lord’s involvement in his initial two DC Universe projects. However, he is depicted interviewing Peacemaker and unintentionally expresses his negative opinion about him over the microphone by saying “he sucks.” It appears that he might be scouting for the Justice League, but fans are eager to discover how his typical villainous characteristics will manifest in this context.
White Rabbit
In the forthcoming episodes of Peacemaker, Brey Noelle is set to appear as the White Rabbit for the first time. This marks her introduction into the expansive DC Universe, where she brings to life a beloved character from Batman’s world in the DC Comics lore.
In the comic books, White Rabbit is a Native American high society figure who possesses abilities of duplication and extraordinary speed. She is recognized for her fashion choices, reminiscent of the Playboy bunny. As of now, we don’t know her role for Season 2, but given Peacemaker’s habit of having multiple romantic relationships in Season 1, she might present a romantic enigma for him.
Rick Flag Sr.
After his time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Frank Grillo will reappear for his third project within the DC Universe, playing Rick Flag Sr. in Season 2 of Peacemaker. He initially lent his voice to the character in the animated Creature Commando series, and he’s also set to appear in a supporting role in the live-action Superman film scheduled for release in July 2025.
Following his tenure with the Creature Commandos, Flag will pursue Peacemaker, a character notorious for killing Rick Flag Jr., played by Joel Kinnaman, in “The Suicide Squad.” With the weight of personal loss driving their showdown, it’s anticipated that Flag will become one of Peacemaker’s deadliest adversaries throughout Season 2.
