Google recently released a unique Japanese advertisement for its Google Play app on Android, animated by the renowned studio Wit, known for producing “Attack on Titan.” This brief 15-second clip is characterized by vibrant colors and smooth animation, typical of Wit’s style. The ad depicts a future utopia where structures are designed based on Google products and hues. Initially, a single individual resides in a dim, dismal apartment room. However, a bear adorned in Google Play’s red, blue, green, and yellow enters their room, transforming it to resemble the city outside.
The individual’s phone metamorphoses into a gaming controller resembling a Nintendo Switch, featuring removable buttons and joysticks on the sides. As “Insomnia” by Japanese singer Eve fills the air during this advertisement, it creates an atmosphere reminiscent of an anime opening scene. Notably, Eve is renowned for his opening themes for “Jujutsu Kaisen,” “Chainsaw Man,” and “My Hero Academia.” The fast-paced, dynamic tune of “Insomnia” complements the lively animation in this short commercial. Wit Studio’s Google Play animation stands out as one of the most visually captivating advertisements Google has ever produced, aiming to attract more anime enthusiasts.

What Is Wit Studio Working on Now?
As a die-hard fan and connoisseur of all things anime, I’m thrilled to share that Wit Studios has been keeping me on the edge of my seat with their latest projects! They’ve got some exciting titles in the pipeline, like “My Deer Friend Nokotan,” “Suicide Squad Isekai,” and “Yaiba: Samurai Legend.”
What’s even more intriguing is that Wit Studios is now taking over animation duties for the fourth season of “Ascendance of a Bookworm” from Ajiado. And get this, Netflix revealed that the studio is working on a remake of “The One Piece,” focusing on the first half of the manga!
Now, you might wonder why I’m so excited about this news. Well, the original “One Piece” anime from Toei Animation has been running for quite some time, and it’s been over two decades since the early episodes were created. With the Toei “One Piece” having over one thousand episodes, it’s high time that the early parts of the anime receive an update! So, here’s to looking forward to a refreshed take on this beloved series!
Although Netflix is heavily promoting the live-action adaptation, there hasn’t been much news on the remake since it was announced. It seems probable that Wit Studios are working on the project, but progress might be slow to ensure the remake lives up to the quality that made them well-known. As animation can take time, we’re unsure how long it will take for Wit Studios to unveil their interpretation of the classic series. Some concept art from the show has been shared online, offering fans a glimpse into what they can expect.
