Halsey Stops Concert to Save Videographer From Getting Burned

Halsey took full control at her recent Pittsburgh performance.

During her June 14th performance, the artist known for her song “Bad at Love” intervened quickly to prevent a cameraman from being harmed by stage fireworks.

As the cameraman moved closer during their performance of “Without Me,” they subtly signaled for him to step aside by mouthing “Step back” and gesturing towards the edge of the stage, aware that a fire effect was about to be triggered in his path. However, the videographer didn’t seem to catch the hint, so the performer leapt up mid-song, exclaiming “There’s pyro coming! Make way!” as they swiftly pushed the cameraman off the stage, managing to do so just before the flames erupted.

After that heart-pounding instant, I, a 30-year-old who’s blessed to share a 3-year-old son named Ember with my ex Alev Aydin, swiftly returned to the stage, my laughter tinged with apprehension. With the lyrics “Tell me how it feels, sitting right there…” still echoing in my ears, I resumed my performance, feeling every word deeply.

Yet again, this isn’t the first instance of a significant stage malfunction for the artist popularly known as “Gasoline,” who is now engaged to the star of “Victorious,” Avan Jogia. In fact, a similar nerve-wracking incident occurred during a performance at Madison Square Garden in 2021.

During an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden in January 2021, Halsey stated, “Everything malfunctioned while I was performing on stage. It was the sound system, the lights, the videos, the music – everything that involves my brain.

They went on saying, “Everything broke down, and I found myself standing on stage for two whole minutes addressing the audience. In terms of stage time, those two minutes felt more like an eternity.

Although they managed to quickly navigate through the latest problem on stage, it was a different story back then.

When that incident occurred, I decided to begin the entire performance anew from the start, ensuring it was flawless throughout. (Halsey)
