Crossplay a Top Priority for Soccer Sensation Rematch

In today’s gaming landscape, it’s uncommon for large, multi-format, multiplayer games not to offer crossplay functionality upon release. However, the game “Rematch” encountered an unexpected issue right from its start.

Despite the game’s success exploding on various platforms, it appears that Sifu’s developers at Sloclap are discreetly dealing with issues, as they’ve canceled crossplay because of unanticipated technical complications.

Fortunately, it sounds like it has a fix in the offing.

The studio expressed, in their statement, that they recognized many of you had been eager to play Rematch together since its initial release on all platforms.

At launch, we made every possible effort to incorporate crossplay, however, since Rematch marks our debut as a crossplay game, unexpected technical intricacies arose that didn’t allow us to have the feature available at first.

I wish I could have shared the news earlier about the delay in offering crossplay at launch. I truly apologize for any inconvenience or frustration this may have caused you, our valued community.

According to Sloclap, prioritizing crossplay integration is their utmost goal, and they are dedicated to bringing this functionality as quickly as possible.

Although the game is set to release today, it seems the team has a lot on their plate. They’re planning for tournament and leaderboard systems, creating training modes with AI opponents, and enabling spectator functionality for matches. Interestingly enough, they’re aiming to facilitate quicker rematches as well.

The team is energized by the initial triumph of this game, yet rapid improvements are crucial if they aim to retain their player base. If they manage to do so, there’s a chance this could become the next phenomenon similar to Rocket League, and we wonder if it might potentially lure players away from EA Sports FC 25.
