Lottie Tomlinson isn’t letting her health drag her down.
The sibling of former One Direction member Louis Tomlinson revealed that during a trip to Abu Dhabi, she had an emergency appendix operation but remains hopeful about her healing process.
In a video posted to her Instagram Story on June 19th, she expressed that she hadn’t anticipated beginning her journey in this manner, but was thankful for her current recovery. She revealed that during the flight, she became severely unwell with intense abdominal pain and vomiting upon arrival at her destination.
In the United Arab Emirates, she consulted with a physician due to ongoing discomfort. Despite this medical attention, she continued to grapple with her pain, eventually leading to a diagnosis of appendicitis inflammation.
Lottie explained, ‘They gave me an intravenous drip, but it didn’t alleviate the abdominal discomfort, so they admitted me to the hospital instead. Upon arrival, I was diagnosed with appendicitis, which required immediate surgery.’ Last night, my appendix was successfully removed in the operation.
The 26-year-old expressed her desire for a swift healing and to savor our remaining days together, as she shared a photo of her fiancé Lewis Burton, their 2-year-old son Lucky, and herself at the doctor’s office on this occasion.
Later on, Lottie provided some good news – she had been discharged from the hospital and planned to unwind at the Jumeirah Saadiyat Island beach resort’s hotel.
In her Instagram post on June 19th, she expressed, “I’m back home,” accompanied by a picture of Lewis, Lucky, and their 5-month-old daughter Flossie having fun at the pool. “They bring so much joy to my life,” she added.
The influencer expressed her heartfelt thanks to all the nurses and physicians who cared for her, and she is optimistic about making a speedy recuperation.
Lewis expresses his affection too, sharing a picture of Lottie in a pretty pink one-piece bathing suit next to the pool, accompanied by the message, “I love you.

Currently, from my toes up to my knees, I’m experiencing a strange tingling sensation, which is quite surprising,” he remarked during his podcast episode of Trading Secrets on March 2025. “To give you an idea, about two to four weeks ago, I was likely squatting around 295 pounds. Now, I’m unable to do a single-leg squat; I’d lose my balance if I tried. It feels like I’ve had a stroke or something.
But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

The actress expressed her profound gratitude for merely being alive. She shared her deep affection for her daughters, husband, family, and friends, stating, “Each moment with them is precious; cherish those close to you whenever you can.” Recalling a near-death experience, she emphasized that life’s unpredictability underscores the importance of embracing loved ones tightly, as circumstances can shift dramatically in the blink of an eye.
Although the internet can sometimes be unkind, Amy Schumer is grateful that it provided her with valuable insights in this particular instance. As she reminisced on a 2025 episode of Call Her Daddy, Amy joked about the backlash she received following numerous interviews, saying, “Everybody relax,” only to have doctors chiming in with comments suggesting something might be wrong due to her altered appearance. Taken aback, Amy mused, “I’m being trolled by doctors?”
After doctors suspected she may have Cushing syndrome and attributed it to elevated cortisol levels or steroid injections, the Life & Beth creator began to connect the dots. “Ah-ha,” she thought, “I had been receiving steroid injections for my scars.” Amy went on to explain, “I’ve had a breast reduction, C-section, and other procedures, so I was getting these steroid injections. Consequently, it led to me developing Cushing syndrome, an issue I wouldn’t have known about if the internet hadn’t been so critical of me.”
Now, Amy is merely relieved that she is healthy. In a February 2024 News Not Noise newsletter, she expressed her gratitude for discovering that the type of Cushing she has will resolve on its own and that she remains in good health.
Hailey Bieber experienced a terrifying incident in March 2022 during breakfast with her husband Justin Bieber when she began experiencing symptoms similar to a stroke. She recalled Justin asking if she was alright, to which she couldn’t respond because she wasn’t sure and then struggled to speak. Her right side of the face drooped, and she was unable to form sentences.
Hailey explained that her facial paralysis subsided, but she went to the hospital for a check-up. They discovered a small blood clot in her brain, which they classified as a Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA). Further examination at the University of California, Los Angeles revealed a hole in her heart called patent foramen ovale (PFO).
The blood clot had reportedly traveled into her heart, escaped through the PFO, and reached her brain, causing the TIA. After undergoing a successful PFO closure procedure, Hailey stated that she was now feeling well.
In the same year as Hailey’s health crisis, Justin also faced one of his own. Specifically, in June 2022, Justin Bieber announced a diagnosis with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which led to temporary paralysis in parts of his face and caused him to postpone the rest of his Justice World Tour. Explaining on Instagram, he said that this virus attacking the nerve in his ear and facial nerves had caused full paralysis on one side of his face. As viewers could see, his eye wouldn’t blink, he couldn’t smile on that side, and his nostril was immobile. He even mentioned that it became progressively harder for him to eat, but eventually, the paralysis subsided. Hailey shared on Good Morning America in June 2022 that Justin is now doing well and feeling much better, although they both acknowledged it was a terrifying and unexpected situation. However, she expressed gratitude that he’s on the mend.

In his 2024 Netflix special titled “What Had Happened Was…”, he recalled an incident in Atlanta where he had a severe headache and asked for an aspirin. Before receiving it, he fainted and lost consciousness for about 20 days.
Initially diagnosed by a doctor with a cortisone shot and sent home, Foxx’s sister Deidra Dixon took him to another hospital where they discovered he had suffered a brain bleed leading to a stroke. After undergoing surgery on the same day, Jamie woke up on May 4th in a wheelchair, unable to walk. He then moved to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy.
“I want to express my gratitude for every prayer,” he said, “because I truly needed them all.
Actress Emilia Clarke, famously known for her role in Game of Thrones, faced a real-life battle that was far from the fictional ones she portrayed on screen. In 2019, she penned an essay titled “A Battle for My Life” in The New Yorker.
In her account, she described a sudden illness at the gym where she collapsed and vomited profusely. The pain, she explained, was relentless and she suspected her brain was injured. She was rushed to the hospital for a scan which confirmed her fears – she had experienced a subarachnoid hemorrhage, a potentially fatal type of stroke.
Undergoing immediate surgery to seal the aneurysm, she described the pain as unbearable. During her recovery, she struggled with aphasia, often speaking nonsense. However, a week later, her speech returned and she was discharged from the hospital after a month’s stay.
However, in a 2013 scan, it was discovered that the growth had doubled in size, necessitating another surgery. She recalled waking up from the procedure with excruciating pain as the operation had failed. The doctors informed her that her chances of survival were slim if they did not operate again, and this time they would have to access her brain through her skull.
Fortunately, she is now in good health and has made a full recovery.
Cori Broadus, the daughter of renowned rapper Snoop Dogg, expresses her gratitude towards her family.
Following a “severe stroke” in January 2024, her loved ones immediately rallied to be by her side.
She shared the news with TopMob News‘ correspondent Will Marfuggi in December 2024, stating “I texted them that I just had a stroke and sent them a picture.” Everyone rushed to her aid.
Unfortunately, due to other medical issues, Cori’s hospital stay was prolonged beyond her initial expectations.
“I could have been discharged after my stroke,” she continued from the set of Snoop’s Fatherhood: Cori and Wayne’s Story. “However, my lupus wasn’t doing well, and my kidneys were failing. There was a lot happening at once.”
Now, Cori is recovering.
“I’m doing well,” she affirmed. “I just needed to regain some motor skills, but other than that, I was in good shape.
In the early 20s of her life, Shailene Woodley’s health took a turn for the worse. She experienced issues such as losing her hearing, extreme fatigue, and stomach problems. The actress described this period as a confusing time with various doctors providing different diagnoses. Determined to find answers, she combined conventional medical treatment with holistic healing methods, seeking help from both traditional doctors and independent healers. This journey lasted for a decade during which she also grappled with anxiety about food due to her physical discomfort. This led to mental struggles such as body dysmorphia, confusion about identity, and feeling unsafe in her own skin. However, after focusing on improving both her physical and mental health, Shailene is now feeling much better and is happy to report that she is healthy once again.
