For gamers seeking a portable gaming experience, they’ll be thrilled to know that the popular title, Gears of War: Reloaded, has been officially verified for use on the Steam Deck. This exciting news comes courtesy of GamingOnLinux.
Recently, there seems to be some confusion about the Steam Deck Verified label, as certain games have received this designation without running smoothly, experiencing significant performance problems even when graphics settings are reduced.
You shouldn’t fret much about the performance issues with Gears of War: Reloaded. The Coalition, a renowned studio for optimizing games across various hardware, is behind it. One of the main reasons for releasing Gears of War: Reloaded is to make it available natively on Steam for the first time.
I’d be eager to find out how effectively Gears of War: Reloaded runs on Valve’s portable device as well.
During Summer Game Fest 2025 in L.A., I dropped by Xbox and played Gears of War: Reloaded on the upcoming Xbox Ally X, a device boasting much greater power than the Steam Deck (and expected to carry a premium price). Remarkably, it consistently maintained 75 FPS or higher while running at High settings.
The game “Gears of War: Reloaded” is set to release on August 26, 2025, simultaneously on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox Cloud, Windows PC (Steam and Xbox PC), and PlayStation 5. In line with other Xbox first-party games, it will be accessible from the very first day in both “Xbox Game Pass Ultimate” and “PC Game Pass.
