Get ready for the premiere of “Dandadan” Season 2 this Summer! Following its highly acclaimed debut in Fall 2024, the anime quickly announced a sequel after the finale. The first season left fans enthralled with its exceptional animation quality, witty yet intense storyline, and captivating characters. In just six months since the finale, Science SARU will continue the tale in Season 2, delving into the Cursed House Arc from the manga. The previous season ended on a suspenseful note, right smack in the middle of the arc, leading up to a significant battle. Since then, the studio has released several sneak peeks and trailers, ensuring that Season 2 will wrap up the Cursed House Arc and adapt the Evil Eye Arc as well.
To kick off the second season, GKIDS has unveiled a global movie screening for the first three episodes of Season 2, titled “Dandadan: Evil Eye“. This film premiered in U.S. cinemas on June 6th, 2025, roughly a month before the entire season becomes available on July 3rd. Following the launch of the second season, Shueisha intends to publish a special book, which is now listed on their official Japanese website and slated for release on August 4th, 2025, with a price tag of 1100 yen (including taxes).

The title of the book is “Dandadan Daizukan,” which roughly translates to a large-scale illustrated guidebook or encyclopedia. This type of work typically contains extensive and detailed information, often accompanied by images or photographs. However, specifics about this particular book remain undisclosed, but given that creator Yukinobu Tatsu is involved, it seems likely that it will be an informative book featuring distinctive visuals.
Since a fanbook for the manga was officially released in 2024, another one might not be imminent. Also, it’s worth noting that the Japanese version of this special book is set to be published, but the English edition may follow suit within a few months or even years, depending on the publishing schedule.
Dandadan Season 2 Will Be a Major Turning Point in the Story
In the first season of this anime, the plot is just starting to form. We’re introduced to the main characters and learn about the world’s distinctive power system. But there’s a lot we don’t know yet, particularly what major challenge Momo and her companions will encounter. As we move forward into subsequent storylines, we’ll not only see more formidable Yokai but also alien beings with a master plan. The Cursed House and Evil Eye arcs help flesh out the story, leading up to when the true enemies emerge, revealing the danger they pose.
It appears that the Kito family might appear normal to outsiders, but they conceal a significant secret that could endanger the entire town. To counteract the danger, Momo, Okarun, and Jiji join together. Unfortunately, events take an unexpected turn when Jiji emerges as Okarun’s most formidable adversary yet. Their struggle has been hinted at in the trailer, suggesting that Jiji, who was introduced later in the first season, will soon gain powers of his own.
