Tish Cyrus didn’t mean to start a war when she accidentally unfollowed Miley Cyrus on Instagram.

Miley Cyrus and her mother, Tish, have clarified the situation surrounding Tish’s temporary unfollowing of Miley on social media in May, which occurred not long after Miley reconnected with her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, leading to rumors of a potential larger Cyrus family dispute.

On the June 19th episode of “Sorry We’re Cyrus“, Miley, aged 32, remarked that the occurrence was quite peculiar. Regardless of whether one is a part of the family or not, it seemed strange considering the circumstances at hand.

Tish, aged 58, agreed emphatically, stating “indeed” prior to the former Hannah Montana star elaborating on the significant timing.

Miley playfully remarked, “It seemed like you stopped following Billy Ray, and guess what? I mysteriously popped up again on your feed! Then, after receiving some criticism, you magically learned how to click ‘follow’ instantly. Don’t worry, it was all in good fun!

After some investigation, it turned out that the reason for the unfollowing incident was simply due to an issue with Meta’s system, as stated by the artist known for hit songs like “Flowers.

Their explanation remained in line with what the duo had previously said about the incident, too. 

In May, when someone inquired about her past social media activity, Tish, who is a mother to Trace (36), Braison (30), and Noah (25) with her ex Billy Ray, responded on Instagram saying, “It’s a mystery how that occurred, but it’s been rectified now!

Tish stated on X that she has no intention of stopping her follow of Miley, as their bond remains just as strong as ever. Full stop. I love you, Little.

Meanwhile, Miley made sure it was known that nothing could ever come between her and Tish.

Generally, I don’t engage with gossip, but let it be known that my mother and I share an unbreakable bond. She is more than just a mom to me; she’s my best friend. It so happens that she’s not tech-savvy and accidentally unfollowed me on Instagram – a simple, coincidental occurrence that holds no intrigue.

Instead of plowing through the accumulated pile, Miley casually said, “I’m here, you’re here. Let’s begin by enjoying each other’s company,” she continued. “Once we create a sense of happiness and joy in our lives, we’ll be in a more favorable position to engage in meaningful conversations. Billy Ray Cyrus married Tish Cyrus (née Leticia Finley) on Dec. 28, 2003.

At that point in time, they had a 12-month-old child named Destiny Hope Cyrus, who later became known as Miley Cyrus, and Tish was carrying their son Braison Cyrus, who made his arrival on the 9th of May, 1994.
