Alex Garland and Danny Boyle, the masterminds behind the groundbreaking horror movie “28 Days Later,” are delving back into their world marked by rage-induced chaos with a fresh trilogy titled “28 Years Later“. The upcoming trilogy includes Cillian Murphy reprising his memorable role as Jim in the second installment, “28 Years Later: The Bone Temple“. Fans are eagerly discussing which characters from the series’ past might resurface. During an exclusive chat with ComicBook about the upcoming films, screenwriter Garland expressed a unique affinity for a particular character from “28 Weeks Later,” though he admitted that their return might not be feasible due to narrative constraints.

When asked about reprising characters, Garland directly expressed his desire to bring back Jeremy Renner, saying, “He’s the man I’d choose to come back. I think I have a soft spot for him, yes.” He then went on to praise Renner’s acting skills and his work in the 2007 sequel, stating, “Working with him as an actor is always a pleasure. I just really enjoy watching him, and he was fantastic in that movie.” Boyle, however, simply stated that they haven’t discussed the possibility yet.
