Following a wave of criticism regarding the 14-year-old actor portraying a 9-year-old character named Austin Miller on season three of Ginny & Georgia, the show’s creator, Sarah Lampert, disclosed that the writers have plans to tackle age difference concerns in the upcoming fourth season.

Sarah shared with Us Weekly during an interview on the 20th of June that there are a couple of humorous remarks they have in store. Awareness of his growth is something they both share, which aids them.

Indeed, as stated, the writer noted that due to Diesel’s recent growth in maturity, the screenwriters now have an opportunity to develop his narrative more extensively than they could during the initial two seasons of the show, given that his on-screen persona was approximately the same age as the character he portrays.

Sarah added, “To be completely honest, he’s become more integrated into our family than ever before. Earlier, he was just a youngster. But after what we made him go through in season three and his growth from a child to a preteen for season four, he’s joining the conversation in a new light, unlike any other time.

A transformation fans might not witness involves replacing the actor portraying Austin, the soft-spoken younger brother of Ginny Miller (Antonia Gentry) and son of Georgia Miller (Brianne Howey). As Sarah explained, “We can’t recast. Diesel is Austin.” In simpler terms, the character of Austin won’t be played by a different actor since Diesel already embodies him.

She added, “If you work on this production, they’ll verify that I pay close attention to the finer points. I’m very particular about numerous aspects. As for something like Diesel maturing over five years, I simply shrug and say ‘Oh well,’ since there’s no way to manage that.

In the end, Sarah encouraged her followers to set aside any doubts they might have and fully immerse themselves when observing Diesel in season four, as the specific launch date is still unknown.

She mentioned that they aim to avoid making a large jump in time as it diminishes the emotional aspect of the narrative. Consequently, the flashbacks become inconsistent with the sequence of events in the flashback scenes. In essence, time is merely an artificial concept in the world of Wellsbury.
