Chad Franke is taking a big step in his relationship. 

Ruby Franke’s 20-year-old son, who is also the child of her former spouse Kevin Franke, announced that he has become engaged to his girlfriend, Kam Anderson.

On June 15, Chad shared a video on Instagram where he was seen, dressed in a white shirt, gray shorts, and sneakers, standing before a breathtaking mountain view. He feigned shock as if looking at a ring. Accompanying his surprised expression, he captioned the post with, “Wondering how my girlfriend will respond to this proposal.

In another instance, Chad indeed proposed to Kam, dropping to one knee on a wooden boardwalk. Kam, the 21-year-old esthetician, was there in cut-off denim shorts and a white tank top. Seeing the ring, she turned around and gave her now-fiancé a warm embrace.

After his announcement, many of Utah realtor’s relatives and acquaintances praised him for reaching this significant achievement. His younger sister, Shari Franke (aged 22), posted a message saying “NEW SIS” instead of the traditional “CONGRATULATIONS SISTER”.

Yet, it seems that Ruby, Chad’s mother who is incarcerated for up to three decades following her guilty plea on four felony counts of second-degree aggravated child abuse, has not yet made any public comments regarding his engagement.

Even though the matriarch (who also has four other kids with Kevin) might not be present when he gets married, she had previously made it clear during a court hearing in 2024 that she wants nothing but the best for them. This was stated a year after two of her youngest children were discovered emaciated and abused under her care.

In those moments, she expressed, “You two are an integral piece of me. At that point, I saw darkness as light and what was perceived as wrong, as right.” She added, “There’s nothing I wouldn’t do in this world for you.
