It appears that there’s speculation circulating about more South Park episodes potentially being taken off streaming platforms, specifically Paramount+ as they prepare to take over from HBO Max starting July 1. Some regions have already started banning an episode, which could indicate that this might be one of the episodes that are completely banned come July 1st. It’s important to note that these reports have not been officially confirmed yet, and this information remains a rumor at this time.
Earlier discussions highlighted various episodes that are getting censored, yet they failed to mention Season 5’s “Butters’ Very Own Episode.” However, viewers in Canada and other regions have started to notice its absence from streaming platforms. Contrastingly, it’s still accessible to stream in the United States. This could be a sign of potential banning, but as of now, it hasn’t been globally prohibited yet.
Naturally, followers of South Park are expressing dissatisfaction, and in certain instances, they’re warning they might resort to illegal downloads if this becomes a regular practice.
A dedicated South Park fan notes, ‘There are 16 episodes in total, excluding Muhammad. This amounts to about a season and a half. Instead of providing financial backing or support, I may opt to wait for pirate sites to release the new episodes.’
South Park’s future remains undecided by Paramount, and rumors suggest they might remove or deem certain episodes problematic, including “Butters’ Very Own Episode” due to its comments about O.J. Simpson, Gary Condit, and the Ramseys. However, it’s worth noting that compared to other episodes, this one is relatively mild. Yet, the lack of official word from Paramount has fueled speculation among fans, who fear this could mean unfavorable news is on the horizon as no clear updates have been provided.
