Recently, there’s been a lot of buzz surrounding Borderlands 4. From avid fans being able to purchase the game without breaking the bank to its reasonable $70 price point (thankfully!), it’s been a hot topic among gamers, with some even getting early access. And now, with the release of an impressive story trailer, the excitement has reached new heights!
In the upcoming release, the wit characteristic of Borderlands will be back with even more intensity. However, the initial teaser presents a somber mood instead of the usual humor. This is intended to evoke the kind of malevolence in the antagonist that Borderlands fans have grown accustomed to.
Hey there, fellow tech-savvy adventurer! It’s me, stranded on the alien world of Kairos, under the iron fist of the ruthless ruler known as The Timekeeper. You see, my friends and I – the new Vault Hunters – have landed here unintentionally. But don’t worry; our mission is crystal clear: topple The Timekeeper from power! Let’s rise up against this tyrant together, forge a new future on Kairos, and unlock its secrets along the way. Game on!
So far, the single problem we’ve identified is that each of your characters has a gadget known as “The Bolt” embedded inside them. This device functions as a control mechanism, aiming to restrict your characters’ individual decision-making abilities in order to exert control over them.
In this tale, conquering this device becomes a crucial element, as you encounter various familiar faces such as Zane, Claptrap, and the intriguingly popular Mad Moxxi. It’s no secret that countless enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating an upgrade to the wiggle dynamics.
From where I stand, I’m choosing not to delve deeply into the rest of the storyline. I’d rather keep it a mystery until my first playthrough on September 12, 2025. If you’re eager for more details, feel free to explore the gameplay trailers shared by Gearbox and other gaming platforms!

For more than a dozen years now, the Borderlands franchise has been among my top favorites. Since its first unveiling in Game Informer, this series stood out even before its debut due to its unique, non-cell-shaded graphic style instead of the typical realistic rendering!
Looking back on my high school days, I wouldn’t have imagined myself here, involved in the creation of a third installment that I find just as thrilling now as I did then.
