Since Lenovo unveiled the Legion Go 2 at CES in January, the main curiosity has been centered around “when will it be available for purchase?
Now, once more, internet detectives have been working on this matter, and we’ve got some sort of resolution. However, it’s essential to clarify that it isn’t definitively the resolution, but rather a possible resolution. This is due to the fact that the information originated from less than reliable sources, specifically a local social media platform.
The news broke on Reddit (via Videocardz.)
The Legion Go 2 is expected to be released in September in Mexico, according to Lenovo Latin America from r/LegionGo
It seems there’s no confirmed release date from Lenovo, suggesting the Legion Go 2 might not hit shelves in September yet.
A Lenovo LATAM social media account isn’t typically where we reveal release dates. In the past, we’ve followed a different approach, and we expect to do so in the future as well.
It’s possible that they could be correct, but let’s not get our hopes up just yet. As of now, we can’t confirm for sure if the event is taking place in September, since Lenovo hasn’t officially announced it through a press release from their headquarters, not their social media team.
Nevertheless, it doesn’t mean a September deadline is impossible. In fact, there’s another product with hardware similar to the Lenovo Legion Go 2, and we do have a scheduled release date for this one.
The ROG Xbox Ally X.
This system will also feature AMD’s cutting-edge Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme, their latest and most advanced offering. Although Xbox hasn’t provided a specific release date yet, they’ve hinted at making it available during the holiday season of 2025, which falls within the last quarter (Q4) of that year.
Additionally, the International Fall Annual (IFA) exhibition takes place in Berlin during the initial week of September every year, and historically, Lenovo has played a significant role at this event.
Based on the feedback received on social media (once translated), it appears that the Legion Go 2 may become available for purchase on the online store as early as September. However, this does not confirm that it will definitely start shipping in September. It could potentially launch in September and begin shipping during the fourth quarter of the year instead.
To put it another way, although this information might not be the ultimate authority, it’s not entirely implausible either.
It’s quite possible that the Legion Go 2 will make its appearance towards the end of this year as well. There’s an even chance it might come out a bit sooner, considering it won’t receive the initial software improvements that Microsoft is planning for their Xbox-branded devices.
