Although Summer Game Fest 2025 and the associated Xbox Games Showcase have just passed by a few weeks ago, the Xbox team has already secured its participation at the upcoming major gaming event. Indeed, Xbox has confirmed its attendance at Gamescom 2025, scheduled from August 20th to the 24th in Cologne, Germany.
The confirmation was made through a post on the official Xbox Bluesky account on Monday. At present, not much information is available, but we do know that Bethesda Softworks will also be there, with the Xbox publisher confirming its presence via Twitter’s X.
In addition to this, Blizzard Entertainment will join the annual German gaming event as well. The World of Warcraft team will unveil Midnight, the next chapter in the “Worldsoul Saga” initially outlined at BlizzCon 2023, during the event.
As per their announcement, the World of Warcraft booth promises five days of continuous community celebration, featuring a cosplay showcase, developer meet-and-greets, and more. Furthermore, there will be news regarding World of Warcraft: Midnight that’ll be disclosed during the show itself.
What else will Xbox show at Gamescom?
The Xbox development teams have numerous tasks ongoing, making it tricky to predict precisely what they’ll showcase at Gamescom. However, with Bethesda Softworks in attendance, we can expect a more focused selection of projects.
During the Xbox Games Showcase, Bethesda and MachineGames revealed a sneak peek at Indiana Jones and the Great Circle DLC expansion, The Order of Giants. We might catch a glimpse of additional details here.
Additionally, there’s talk of DOOM: The Dark Ages campaign DLC. It wouldn’t shock me if this is initially unveiled at a stream accompanying QuakeCon 2025, which has a focus on id Software.
