5 Worst Killers in Dead By Daylight

In two eagerly awaited collaborations, “Dead by Daylight” has never experienced such widespread enthusiasm as it is now. Whether you’re a seasoned killer or a fresh recruit stepping into the role for the first time, the allure to ascend the ranks and secure a top-tier killer status might be irresistible. To accomplish this, it’s essential to select a killer that aligns with your gaming style, while steering clear of some characters currently lacking in strength.

Hey there! Just want to make things clear – when it comes to playing Dead by Daylight, choose the killer that suits your style the best. Sure, some killers are stronger than others right now, but if you put in the effort, any killer can reach Iridescent rank and excel in their matches. If you’re concerned about the current state of the game’s meta, though, this list of the weaker killers in Dead by Daylight might help guide your decision on which one to specialize in for ranked play.

1) The Skull Merchant

Initially renowned as one of the most potent killers in “Dead by Daylight,” this original character has experienced a significant decline, currently being viewed as the weakest killer in the game’s history.

This is due to a recent adjustment in the power of the killer, which has significantly impacted her effectiveness. Earlier, her surveillance drones could easily locate survivors within their scanning range, enabling the Skull Merchant to cut off entire escape routes for survivors. However, now these drones merely impede them, making it much harder for this killer to achieve kills, especially when combined with other minor modifications to her toolkit.

2) The Trapper

As a dedicated gamer immersed in the world of Dead by Daylight, I can’t help but notice that its original icon, The Trapper, seems to be struggling to keep pace with the evolving game landscape. When I first started playing, he was one of the limited killers available, but over time, an abundance of DLC characters has been introduced, gradually overshadowing him and reducing his relevance in the game.

The lack of additional skills in Trapper’s arsenal primarily stems from the straightforward nature of his equipment. Although setting beartraps across the map to ensnare unsuspecting survivors is an exclusive feature that can alter game outcomes, the Trapper lacks any abilities to boost his performance during chases, hinder gen progression, or impede survivors beyond his traps. Regrettably, skilled players of DBD often know how to dodge these traps, making it increasingly challenging to master this character as you advance in the rankings.

This older killer is unfortunately so dated that even his Mori feels underwhelming.

3) Michael Myers

It’s difficult for me to express this, since Michael Myers is among my preferred horror adversaries and he was my initial main character in Dead by Daylight. Similarly to Trapper, Myers seems somewhat outdated when contrasted with some of the more recent killers in the game.

A significant factor leading many within the DBD community to view Michael Myers as less potent compared to other killers is primarily due to his power characteristics. From level 1 onwards, Myers has a shorter lunge range and slower walking speed than any other killer in the game. Reaching tier 2 leaves him with average stats among the roster of killers, primarily relying on his basic m1 attack while boasting a slightly quicker vaulting speed. Tier 3 does provide an enhancement for Michael, but it lasts only approximately 60 seconds. The loss of the ability to stalk multiple survivors has had a substantial impact on his potential to achieve this enhanced state.

Indeed, it’s undeniable that Michael Myers boasts some top-tier addons in the game, and when paired with Tombstone Myers, even seasoned Dead by Daylight (DBD) players can feel a shiver down their spine. Regrettably, Myers often finds himself on the less powerful end of the spectrum, particularly when compared to Ghost Face, who possesses a more effective version of Myers’ stealth/exposure mechanic.

4) Legion

It’s hard to hide the truth, but it’s tough on me too because Legion is among my top choices for killers in the game. Following a number of significant adjustments shortly after Legion was launched, the community generally views this killer as one of the weakest.

The Fatal Frenzy skill of the killer previously allowed them to match the rapid jumping speed of survivors. However, since this feature was removed, it has become much more challenging to land four or even the elusive five hits, which are crucial in Legion’s power. When you do manage to pursue a survivor with this killer’s ability, you often find yourself far away from the injured survivor on the map, making the Legion a challenging character to play effectively.

In other words, regularly using Legion as a 4K character demonstrates that any of these killers can still be a solid choice for a main.

5) The Clown

Wrapping up our list, The Clown from Dead by Daylight is often seen as one of the game’s least powerful killers, sharing this status with the Trapper and Myers for similar reasons. Like these characters, The Clown is lacking in many updates that enhance other killers’ abilities to chase survivors and set traps. Furthermore, his power is frequently deemed insufficient when compared to the more recent additions to the game.

The Clown’s Brew gives him the ability to slow down survivors or speed himself up, but skilled survivors can anticipate his throws and avoid his disadvantages using palettes. This makes him a tough killer to rate highly. However, he has an undeniable scary factor – being pursued by a large, unkempt clown – and that final kill is definitely terrifying! Oh my!
