In just a short period, Pluto TV emerged as one of the premier spots for fantastic action films, enriching its existing collection of high-octane choices by incorporating several all-time great action movie titles. What makes this even more enticing is that Pluto TV is a complimentary streaming platform, allowing viewers to enjoy some of the best movies the action genre has produced without spending a penny.
To begin February, many well-known streaming platforms introduced numerous new movies, and Pluto TV, the ad-supported streamer, was no different. It expanded its collection significantly, offering a multitude of films to start off the month, including several iconic action titles that have already become cinematic classics.
One movie under discussion is “Gladiator,” a highly acclaimed film by Ridley Scott that continues to captivate audiences today, having won the Best Picture award. The arrival of “Gladiator” on Pluto TV’s lineup comes at an opportune moment, as its long-awaited sequel had a successful run in cinemas towards the end of last year and is now available for streaming on Paramount+.
In addition to “Gladiator”, Pluto TV has added some classic action movies from the ’80s and ’90s, featuring legendary actors Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone. These include both “Terminator” and “Terminator 2: Judgement Day,” the groundbreaking sci-fi action films by James Cameron that significantly influenced the genre. The streamer has also added the top three Rambo movies, with “First Blood,” featuring Stallone as John Rambo, becoming popular after its release in 1982. This film is now available on Pluto TV along with sequels “Rambo: First Blood Part II” and “Rambo III.”
In contrast to the classic action film “Gladiator,” which spawned a sequel in 2024, another popular action movie from the ’80s recently underwent a reboot rather than a sequel. That movie is none other than “Road House,” which originally hit screens in 1989 and starred Patrick Swayze and Sam Elliott. This beloved action flick continues to resonate with fans, and it’s now available for free streaming on Pluto TV this month.
As a cinephile, I’m thrilled to announce that these blockbusters are adding fuel to Pluto TV’s already explosive action collection. With titles like Face/Off, Total Recall, In the Line of Fire, Point Break, Raw Deal, Ronin, The Boondock Saints, Kickboxer, Walking Tall, Bloodsport, and numerous others, this streamer is becoming a go-to destination for adrenaline junkies like myself.
Without a doubt, there are numerous highly-acclaimed action movies missing from Pluto TV’s selection, yet the recent updates definitely make it an excellent choice as a starting point.
