With Vicarious Visions joining Blizzard and reports suggesting that Tony Hawk‘s Pro Skater 3+4 might not proceed, the future seemed uncertain for Activision’s popular skating franchise. Yet, fortunately, it appears to be receiving another opportunity or potential revival.
According to professional skater Tyshawn Jones, who was part of the cast for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2, a remastered version of the game is currently being developed. Jones shared this information during his recent interview on the Breakfast Club podcast. He also mentioned that he is expected to be featured in the upcoming game’s roster.
He remarked, “It’s like a brand-new Tony Hawk game is being released, which is awesome!” He continued, “Apparently, they are remastering a new version, so it’s set to be launched soon. I was part of the previous one.
It’s not the first time we’ve had indications that the Tony Hawk series might make a comeback (once more). In fact, Tony Hawk himself mentioned in September that he was collaborating with Activision on something fans of the game would enjoy. Later on in the same month, he confirmed that there will indeed be a future for this franchise.
It’s still uncertain whether Activision or Microsoft will officially reveal anything about Tony Hawk. Keep an eye out for further developments over the next few weeks and months.
