A Rayman Remake is in Development – Rumour

As a long-time fan of both Rayman and Prince of Persia series, I must admit, I find myself torn by this recent turn of events at Ubisoft. On one hand, I’m excited about the prospect of a new Rayman remake, given my fond memories of the quirky platformer. However, the news that the team behind Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown has been disbanded and partially reassigned to this project leaves me with a sense of unease.

After recent reports that the development team behind “Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown” was dissolved by Ubisoft because the game didn’t meet their sales targets internally, it appears additional details have come to light regarding this situation.

According to Insider Gaming, there’s a Rayman remake in progress at Ubisoft Milan studio, with part of the team from The Lost Crown project being shifted over. Although the exact Rayman game being refurbished isn’t disclosed, it’s reported that series inventor Michel Ancel is advising on the project. However, this has stirred some apprehension among the team members due to past claims and reports about Ancel’s questionable leadership style.

It’s worth noting that according to Tom Henderson from Insider Gaming, the development team behind The Lost Crown has been assigned to three different projects. Two of these are Project Ovr, which is the upcoming mainline Ghost Recon game, and Beyond Good and Evil 2. It appears that most of the team has shifted focus towards Beyond Good and Evil 2, while approximately a dozen members each have been allocated to both Ghost Recon and Rayman projects.

Additionally, it’s been reported that the game “Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown” has sold approximately a million copies since its release in January. You can learn more about this through the provided link.
