Title Continues its Ode to Super Sentai with Another Legendary Return

The anime persists in its affectionate tribute and playful spoof of traditional Super Sentai/Power Rangers series. The storyline, derived from the manga by Koyoshi Nakayoshi, is designed as a loving homage to these classic shows. The animated adaptation maintains this tribute with notable Sentai actors lending their voices to various characters within the show.

In the latest sneak peek for the anime, another esteemed Sentai actor has been confirmed to join the voice cast. According to Comic Natalie, the voiceover is none other than Tetsu Inada, a seasoned voice actor with extensive experience in Super Sentai productions.

For quite some time, Inada has been associated with the Super Sentai franchise, beginning his journey with it through Mirai Sentai Timeranger in 2000. Over the years, he appeared in various minor roles and supporting parts until he was cast as Doggie Kruger, also known as Dekamaster, in Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger. This character is well-known to American audiences as the Power Rangers version of Dekaranger, specifically in Power Rangers SPD. Doggie Kruger was one of the rare Sentai characters that were directly adapted for the Power Rangers adaptation, with John Tui providing his voice in SPD. On January 12th, Inada will be narrating the first episode of The Red Ranger Becomes an Adventurer in Another World.

Tetsu Inada once again dives into the realm of Sentai series along with other veterans from the genre in the manga titled “The Red Ranger Transforms into an Adventurer in a New World“. Actors such as Masaya Matsukaze, Mika Kikuchi, Hiroshi Tsuchida, and Arisa Komiya, who have previously portrayed rangers in Super Sentai, will now appear as the comrades of Kizuna Red within the context of Power Rangers. This manga by Nakayoshi is a heartfelt homage to the Sentai subgenre, playfully poking fun at stereotypes while unabashedly celebrating its essence.

The narrative revolves around a character known as the Scarlet Knight, who finds himself in a realm brimming with enchantment and legendary beings. Yet, he retains control of his advanced Sentai equipment, technology that surpasses anything this world has previously encountered. The comedy is derived from the other characters’ responses to the power and peculiarities of Kizuna Scarlet. While Kizuna Scarlet’s demeanor and abilities fit well in a universe like Power Rangers, they seem preposterously powerful and overwhelming in this magical land. The manga series, titled “The Scarlet Knight Ventures into Another World“, has eight published volumes so far, and the anime version is produced by Satelight and is available on Crunchyroll.
