As a gamer, I didn’t see a lot of new releases in January – that’s typically the case. It wasn’t much of a surprise to find the top-selling games on the PlayStation Store being old reliables like EA Sports FC 25, Grand Theft Auto 5, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, all making their usual appearances in the charts.
One noteworthy achievement is Dynasty Warriors: Origins, which surprisingly climbed to the 11th spot on the PS5 rankings in the U.S., outperforming established games. Additionally, Ninja Gaiden 2 Black secured a place at number 14 in the U.S. charts as well, making it a successful month for publisher Koei Tecmo in America. However, neither game managed to make an appearance in Europe’s rankings.
In other regions, it appears that the PS4’s top-selling titles are becoming more influenced by sales figures. Red Dead Redemption 2 is performing exceptionally well on both sides of the Atlantic, while Europe saw a surge in sales for Kingdom Come: Deliverance prior to its sequel. Meanwhile, homegrown multiplayer games like Gang Beasts and Unravel Two have maintained their popularity.
On its debut on PlayStation 5, Wuthering Waves performed quite well, landing at the fifth spot in the U.S. charts and the eighth position in Europe. As anticipated, popular titles like Marvel Rivals, Fortnite, and Roblox remain dominant in these regions.
Well, that wraps up this rather sluggish month. Feel free to check out our comprehensive list of top sellers using the provided link, but keep in mind, February promises to be a far more captivating period.
