A24 Releases New Trailer for the Eggers Brothers’ The Front Room

As a long-time fan of both Robert Eggers’ chilling masterpieces and Brandy’s captivating acting career, I am absolutely thrilled about the upcoming horror movie “The Front Room.” Having made her mark in various genres, from pop stardom to sitcoms, it’s exciting to see Brandy taking on a more sinister role. The trailer alone sends shivers down my spine, and I can’t wait to witness the Eggers Brothers‘ debut feature film.

In the upcoming horror film titled “The Front Room“, it appears that fear can be shared among family members, whether on or off screen. This notion is hinted at in the movie’s first trailer. The story revolves around a pregnant woman who gets an unexpected roommate – her mother-in-law. This chilling tale is brought to you by Max and Sam Eggers, the siblings of Robert Eggers, director of “The Witch” and “The Lighthouse“. Previously working with their brother on his previous films, “The Front Room” marks the Eggers Brothers’ first feature film. Take a look at the trailer for “The Front Room” below before it hits theaters on September 6th.

In a nutshell, the front room setting is depicted as a place where chaos ensues for pregnant Belinda (Brandy) upon her mother-in-law’s (Kathryn Hunter) arrival. As the meddling relative attempts to exert control over the unborn child, Belinda finds herself needing to establish boundaries…

Ever since I was captivated by the chilling narrative of my brother Robert’s directorial debut, “The Witch,” he’s made a name for himself as a masterful genre storyteller. He’s got this knack for creating an eerie atmosphere that sends shivers down your spine. His films have a definite gothic or ancient vibe to them, but with our new project, “The Front Room,” we aim to carve out our unique cinematic style.

Beyond her role as a pop singer, Brandy has also ventured into lighter acting projects. These range from her own sitcom called “Moesha,” the “Descendants” movie series, “Best. Christmas. Ever!”, and various other TV appearances. While “The Front Room” isn’t her first brush with horror, she had previously starred in the 1998 film “I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.”

It’s obvious that the actress harbors a fondness for horror movies, since she’s voiced her eagerness to rejoin her old series now that a fresh version of “I Know What You Did Last Summer” is in production.

According to Brandy’s confirmation to The Hollywood Reporter, she emphasized that she lived through the movie and ended up battered but resilient. She clarified that she didn’t meet her demise in that particular film.

She added, “Jennifer, Freddie, hit me up.”

The Front Room hits theaters on September 6th.
