ABBA Voyage 2024: What is it, where is it, best seats and how to buy tickets?

As a seasoned theater-goer who has seen more shows than I can count, I must say that the anticipation for ABBA Voyage has been palpable. The Swedish pop sensation has always held a special place in my heart, and the thought of seeing them live again, albeit in an innovative digital format, was too tantalizing to resist.

Fancy a dance? Here’s your opportunity to showcase your finest steps and travel back to the groovy ’70s with ABBA Voyage!

40 years after they took a break from performing, the legendary Swedish group ABBA is back on stage once more! Witness them perform their timeless hits in an extraordinary live concert experience that fans are raving about as “awe-inspiring”. With cutting-edge technology blending real music and virtual reality, ABBA Voyage offers a one-of-a-kind, immersive show.

Ever since I first showcased Waterloo at the Eurovision Song Contest, my band, ABBA, has carved out a significant niche among the greats of music history. Hits like Dancing Queen, Angel Eyes, and, needless to say, Mamma Mia have all become staples in our cultural narrative. Over time, we’ve seen numerous number one hits and are estimated to have sold anywhere from 150 million to 385 million records globally.

ABBA experienced some high-profile disagreements throughout their history that led to two divorces in 1982, leaving them apart. However, rumors of a virtual concert sparked in 2017, and by 2021, they made an official comeback to produce the Voyage album, which includes the new tracks “Don’t Shut Me Down” and “Little Things.

As a die-hard fan of cinema, I can’t help but get excited about this unique opportunity! You’re invited to witness a fusion of fresh tunes with timeless classics from ABBA Gold, marking their final grand performance. Who would turn down such an offer? Here’s the scoop on this unforgettable experience:

    What is ABBA Voyage?

I’m thrilled to share that ABBA Voyage offers an extraordinary live concert experience, where digital replicas of the original ABBA members take the stage. These aren’t the band members themselves, but rather meticulously crafted 3D avatars (or ABBAtars), brought to life through their recorded voices and movements. It’s a remarkable fusion of technology and music that allows us to enjoy their timeless hits in an innovative way!

As a passionate film enthusiast, I found myself immersed in an unforgettable spectacle where reunited couples harmoniously crooned their biggest hits – from “Voulez-Vous” to “Thank You for the Music.” The performance was nothing short of spectacular, with flawlessly executed dance routines and the mastery of virtual instruments. A live 10-piece band provided the perfect backing to this nostalgic journey through timeless music.

The performance occurs each Thursday through Monday, featuring concerts at either 3:00 PM or 7:45 PM. Seats provide an opportunity to party, while dancefloor spots are available in the central area where the lively dancing queens gather. Additionally, you can reserve a private booth for yourself and your companions, reminiscent of the Super Troop.

The ABBA Voyage concert continues up until October 2025, therefore, don’t miss out on the opportunity! Continue reading to discover the steps for securing your tickets.

      How does ABBA Voyage work?

ABBA Voyage 2024: What is it, where is it, best seats and how to buy tickets?

Four virtual characters, crafted and fashioned by Industrial Light & Magic (the studio behind the CGI in Star Wars and Marvel movies), bring Agnetha, Björn, Benny, and Anni-Frid to life on stage. Using motion capture technology, they convincingly perform their entire setlist, including singing, dancing, and playing the piano.

It’s no wonder that the virtual characters resemble their youthful selves, as every band member contributed to the concert’s development. However, with the sophisticated lighting, sound, and advanced special effects, one would never guess that over five decades have passed since they debuted at Eurovision.

In the recent performance spanning five weeks, it was the current band members who sang and played the 22-song set while wearing motion-capture suits. The choreography, though, was based on the actual movements of the Swedes but was filmed by stand-ins who were younger. On the night of the show, all these elements were combined to create a smooth visual presentation, accompanied by a live band.

Where is the ABBA Voyage Arena?

ABBA Voyage 2024: What is it, where is it, best seats and how to buy tickets?

For this specific task, let’s rephrase the sentence as follows: The temporary structure known as the ABBA Arena was specifically constructed for this endeavor and can be found within Queen Elizabeth Park in Stratford, the site of the 2012 Olympics. With its large, illuminated ABBA sign, it stands out quite distinctly.

The closest station is Pudding Mill Lane, reachable by the Docklands Light Railway (DLR), or you could opt for Stratford station that serves multiple lines including Jubilee, Central, Elizabeth, DLR, and Overground. Additionally, there’s Stratford International with National Rail services available.

At the event location, there are just 10 reserved parking spots for those with a blue badge, which must be pre-booked. Additionally, the entire structure is wheelchair-friendly, offering accessible tickets and companion tickets that can be purchased online.

How much are ABBA Voyage tickets?

To help make it easier for you, who works tirelessly day and night to cover your expenses, we’ve clearly outlined the various costs associated with visiting ABBA Voyage.

You’ll find four different ticket options available for booking: auditorium seats, accessible areas, dance floor spaces, and dance booths. The cost varies based on the date you prefer and your chosen seating location.

Based on ABBA Voyage information, the minimum ticket price is £21.50, but such tickets are scarcely available. Here’s a breakdown of approximate base prices for each ticket type:

        • Auditorium Seating – from £66
        • Accessible Seats – from £66
        • Dance Floor – from £77
        • Dance Booths – from £159.50

Moreover, keep in mind that the price of ABBA Voyage tickets isn’t consistently the same across all platforms, as various ticket vendors often add additional fees to the base cost. These charges might be applied either upfront or after the tickets have been added to your shopping cart.

What are the best seats at ABBA Voyage?

There’s been quite a bit of discussion regarding the best seating location for the ABBA Voyage performance, but truth be told, there isn’t a definitive answer that fits all.

If you’re in search of a fun dance spot, we suggest either the Dance Floor or a Dance Area. However, if you’re seeking a tranquil place to unwind, Block H’s center section is highly recommended. From there, you’ll enjoy an optimal view of the ABBAtars without feeling too distant from the stage.

As a moviegoer, I’d like to share some exciting news for those planning a group outing: There are a total of eight Dance Booths available at the arena, each accommodating 10-12 revelers. Whether you choose to reserve the entire booth or purchase individual tickets, the choice is yours! Opting for the booth guarantees your own dance floor and a dedicated bar service – making your night one to remember!

Tickets for the Dance Booths start at £159.50 per person.

How long is the ABBA Voyage concert?

The performance spans around 90 minutes without a break, featuring the ABBAtars who perform songs, dance routines, and play music selections ranging from “Honey, Honey” to “Money, Money, Money” in their entirety.

The doors will open an hour and a half prior to the concert, giving you ample time to arrive early and get into the groove for some dancing. You’ll also have plenty of time to check out the bar areas.
