In the latest installment of ABC’s “Doctor Odyssey,” an oversight during the editing phase temporarily went unnoticed, but was swiftly rectified.
In an exciting twist, the new series Doctor Odyssey is set to debut on ABC in September 2024. The story follows Dr. Max Bankman, portrayed by Joshua Jackson, as he embarks on a unique journey working on a luxury cruise ship. Here, he tackles extraordinary medical cases alongside a tight-knit team of specialists, all while sailing far from the shoreline – a surprising collaboration with ABC’s hit show 911.
In the latest installment of “Doctor Odyssey,” titled “Hot Tub Week,” the Odyssey team experiences a mix of personal issues and lively visitors, with cheerleading squads dominating the cruise ship. This results in a fair share of shipboard turmoil, along with the excitement. Moreover, viewers were treated to other forms of unrest as well.
Editing Error Pops Up in Doctor Odyssey Episode 14
In the broadcast of episode 14 of ABC’s Doctor Odyssey on April 10, 2025, there was a significant mistake in the editing process for television.
At the outset, Sean Teale’s character, Tristan Silva, is depicted walking alongside Phillipa Soo’s Avery Morgan. To his side stands a verdant tree, while behind them stretches an expansive sky.
It’s undeniably an editing error, as the series “Doctor Odyssey” primarily unfolds not just aboard a vessel but one sailing far out at sea for most of its duration. This is because the show was filmed in studios and backlots scattered across Southern California instead of on a genuine ocean cruise ship.
Initially, there was an oversight in the editing that left out the tree near the ship’s main watchtower in the episode. But once it started streaming on Hulu, this mistake was rectified. Now, viewers can see the watchtower standing proudly above Teale and Soo with the tree intact when they watch the episode.
It’s worth noting that this is the initial significant blunder that fans have noticed, despite the weekly dose of drama provided by Doctor Odyssey, which apparently wasn’t included in the final edit.
In simple terms, the initial season of “Doctor Odyssey” will feature four additional episodes and conclude on May 15th. Regrettably, as of now, we don’t have definitive information about whether there will be a second season.
