Bandai Namco has announced a new sales milestone for the brilliant Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown.
Currently, a flight simulation game with a campy style is now six years old and has surpassed sales of six million units across all available platforms.
The publisher also notes that this means the series as a whole has now surpassed 20 million units.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that it’s been six years since Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown took flight, and we’ve reached an incredible milestone of over 6 million units sold globally! It’s a dream come true for us at the series production team to see our ambition to reach a wide audience becoming a reality. A heartfelt thank you goes out to each one of you who’ve purchased and supported this game – your enthusiasm has been the driving force behind its success!
2019 marked the debut of AC7 on PlayStation 4, marking a comeback for the franchise that delivered an engaging single-player mode, entertaining multiplayer, and exceptional virtual reality support, albeit somewhat restrictive.
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but boast that my favorite addition to the series has truly taken off, making up nearly a third of the entire franchise’s success!
In 2021, another installment of the Ace Combat series was hinted at, with both Project Aces and ILCA starting development on it according to Kono. We eagerly await further details about this upcoming game.
