Actor/director Baltasar Kormákur talks about his emotional new film, ‘Touch’.

As a seasoned movie enthusiast with a penchant for international cinema, I must say that Baltasar Kormákur’s latest work, ‘Touch,’ has truly touched my heart. His directorial journey from the stage to the screen is nothing short of inspiring, and it’s fascinating to see how he tackles such diverse genres with finesse.

Baltasar Kormákur, once an actor hailing from Iceland, has now transitioned into directing, showcasing his talents across theater, cinema, and television. After completing his acting studies at Iceland’s National Academy of Fine Arts in 1990, he was swiftly recruited by the National Theatre of Iceland, where he excelled as one of their top young performers until 1997. Since then, he has shifted focus to the world behind the camera, directing several Hollywood productions over the past decade, including Everest (2015) and ‘Beast’ (2022), featuring Idris Elba. These films revolve around man versus nature themes, but his latest work, ‘Touch’, offers a distinctly emotional narrative that sets it apart.

“Touch, penned by Olaf Olafsson, is a captivating and suspenseful tale that traverses numerous decades and continents, tracing one man’s emotional odyssey as he searches for the woman he lost 50 years ago, fearing time might run out. Check out our review HERE.”
