Occasionally, a thriller emerges that showcases the skill of its creator, and in this case, that creator is Francis Gallupi with his gripping thriller ‘The Last Stop in Yuma County’, featuring performances by Jim Cummings and Richard Brake. This is reminiscent of the early work of the Coen Brothers and their film, Blood Simple.

In a secluded highway eatery, we find two men with contrasting lives: Jim Cummings portrays a knife vendor, while Richard Brake plays an evading bank robber after a recent armed heist. As the pressure mounts, they find themselves sharing the confined space with more patrons, leading to a climax where simmering tensions reach their boiling point.
Both actors are exceptional with an abundance of experience and a remarkable collection of past work. Jim Cummings is not only a skilled actor but also a director who has worked on his own films, such as “The Beta Test.” On the other hand, Richard Brake boasts a broad and diverse back catalogue, encompassing films like the outstanding “Barbarian,” TV shows including “The Mandalorian” and “Peaky Blinders,” as well as the chaotic world of “Mandy” featuring Nicolas Cage.
We discussed “The Last Stop in Yuma County” and Richard’s character traits, including his intimidating gaze and the fact that he doesn’t speak any lines with Jim and Richard.
