Adam Copeland Gives Update on AEW Injury Status After Training Photo Surfaces (Exclusive)

As a long-time wrestling fan who has witnessed countless battles, I can confidently say that Adam Copeland, aka Edge, is nothing short of extraordinary. At 50 years old, he continues to defy age and expectations, pushing his limits to deliver electrifying performances that leave fans on the edge of their seats.

At AEW’s Double or Nothing event this year, Adam Copeland faced one of the toughest wrestling challenges in his career against Malakai Black. This time around, they battled it out inside a Barbed Wire Steel Cage, and at 50 years old, moves that many wrestlers half his age wouldn’t dare to try, were executed by him. One such daring move was leaping from the top of the cage onto Black, resulting in a fractured tibia for Copeland. Despite managing to retain the TNT Championship with the assistance of his Brood stablemate Gangrel, he was compelled to give up the belt and undergo surgery on his injuries. Since then, he’s been out of action, and following surgery, he shared an update with fans, stating that doctors are “optimistic” about his recovery progressing smoothly.

Over the past week, Copeland was captured in a photo alongside AEW colleagues Darby Allin, FTR, and Steven Borden (Sting’s son who is now learning wrestling). Interestingly, this gathering took place near a wrestling ring, marking the first instance since his May injury that fans have spotted Copeland in such proximity. In an interview with ComicBook about their joint venture Pure Plank with Christian Cage from AEW, Copeland provided some insights into his current progress in recovery.

Hey there, as a gamer I’d say, “Absolutely, that’s our take on a classic boy band, if you will [smiles]. It’s more like an old-school, retro boy band [chuckles]. Steven asked if he could join the game for a bit, so I welcomed him with open arms. I managed to get a taste of the action and it felt great moving around, checking out my virtual environment.”

Despite stepping into the ring, I recognized there are areas where I need to regain my full mobility and strength, including power. I’m still encountering issues even in simple maneuvers, such as executing a Leapfrog; my foot doesn’t want to reach its full extent. So, it’s a work in progress. A work in progress. However, with injuries, especially at my age, one never knows how the healing process will unfold. Will I heal well? Will I heal quickly? These are questions that remain unanswered. Fortunately, thus far, it appears that I am still healing as expected.
