Adam Devine Reveals Shocking Truth About Health Crisis Linked to Childhood Accident!

Adam Devine’s childhood accident still has a massive impact on his health.

The actor from “Workaholics,” who was involved in an accident with a cement truck at age 11, has disclosed that a medical professional warned him that the injuries he endured may eventually lead to his demise.

Devine, aged 41, expressed on the April 2nd episode of the “In Depth With Graham Bensinger” podcast that it has been a challenging ordeal for him. He explained that he experiences spasms throughout his body and was informed by doctors that his condition was severe, to the point where they suggested he might not have much longer to live – literally within the past year.

The actor known for “Pitch Perfect” and who is a father of a 12-month-old named Beau with his wife Chloe Bridges, was initially informed that he might have Stiff Persons Syndrome (SPS). This condition causes muscles to become extremely tight, making it impossible to walk or move. It’s also known that this disorder can affect the heart, causing it to stiffen so much that it struggles to beat. Notably, Celine Dion was diagnosed with this condition in 2022.

A month prior to my son’s birth, I was informed I had a certain condition, but six months later, the doctors rescinded their diagnosis. Even though they corrected themselves, I understood my health wasn’t ideal because I could barely walk more than a few blocks before becoming stiff and immobile.” – Devine explained further.

After it was confirmed that he didn’t have SPS, he was informed that his recent muscle pain was likely due to his past accident involving a cement truck.

Currently, Devine posits that the onset of his enigmatic symptoms could be linked to the fitness routine he adopted three years back, which combines cycling with CrossFit exercises.

He said, “It seems I’ve become quite tense.” He continued, “My body has some quirks and imperfections that, under pressure, caused me to suddenly lose control.

Regarding his long-ago accident, the former star of Modern Family has often shared recollections from that close call throughout the years. He even posted an old hospital photograph of himself as a child on Instagram.

He mused in his 2017 post that for two years he was unable to walk and had to learn the entire process of walking again from scratch. Nurses frequently entered his room to readjust his legs, which were completely grafted with skin and kept in traction. The pain was intense beyond comparison.

Previously on Bachelor Nation, this cast member disclosed that he had to visit the hospital, moving on hands and knees because of severe back pain worsened during a camping trip with his buddy.

Currently, there’s a strange tingling sensation from my knees to my toes, which is quite unusual,” he remarked during his Trading Secrets podcast on March 24th. “To give you an idea, about two to three weeks ago, or even a month ago, I was doing squats with around 295 pounds. Right now, I can’t do a simple squat on one foot. I can’t even manage a one-legged squat; if I try, I’d fall over. It feels like I’ve had a stroke or something.

But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

In December 2024, a player in the AHL had an accident during a game where another player’s skate accidentally cut him, necessitating 25 stitches. Later, when he was completely healed, his father, who is the general manager of the New Jersey Devils named Tom Fitzgerald, shared with ESPN that they felt extremely fortunate. He expressed that he wouldn’t want such an incident to happen to any parent.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’m sharing some personal news that recently touched my heart. Back in March of 2025, my ex-husband Matt Kirschenheiter experienced a sudden heart attack, which understandably left us all on edge. However, I am overjoyed to report that he made it through this harrowing ordeal and is now recovering well. The experience serves as a reminder of the importance of taking care of our health, especially during these uncertain times.

30 Rock’s main actor had an unexpected health issue during a New York Knicks match in March 2025, causing him to be transported from Madison Square Garden in a stretcher.

I was absolutely devastated when my favorite comedian posted about falling ill on social media the next day. But thankfully, he assured us it was just a bout of food poisoning and he’s on the road to recovery. I can’t wait for him to get better so we can all laugh together again!

In February 2025, the actress from Even Stevens disclosed that she had been accidentally shot in the face during a trip where they were shooting clay pigeons as part of her husband Brendan Rooney’s birthday celebrations.

In a post on Instagram, she explained that there was another person with us who accidentally fired their weapon in the wrong direction, striking me in the face. Instantly, @thebrendanrooney took charge, evaluated me, and swiftly transported me to the hospital. I was injured in five spots, one of which was just shy of hitting my right eye directly.

The former star of “Kim Possible” added, “Regrettably, a piece became stuck near my eye, and it’s not safe to take out through surgery just yet. The doctors are keeping a close watch on me as I can see fine for now.

She expressed her heartfelt gratitude for being alive, saying, “My affection for my daughters, husband, family, and friends knows no bounds.” She recounted a moment when she felt her life was about to pass before her eyes, emphasizing the importance of embracing those close to us whenever we can. Life, she warned, has a habit of shifting unexpectedly in an instant.

In Amy Schumer’s own words, the internet turned critical after several interviews, leading her to calm everyone down. However, medical professionals chimed in with their opinions in the comments section, suggesting she might have Cushing syndrome. Confused, Amy realized that she had been getting steroid injections for her scars from past surgeries, which led to her developing Cushing syndrome. Fortunately, she learned that the type of Cushing she has will naturally resolve itself, ensuring her good health.

In March of 2022, I, Hailey Bieber, experienced a truly terrifying moment during breakfast with my husband, Justin Bieber. I began to exhibit symptoms similar to a stroke, leaving me unable to respond or speak properly. As the right side of my face drooped, I found myself struggling to put together a sentence.

Thankfully, Justin noticed something was wrong and asked if I was alright. Though I couldn’t immediately respond, I was eventually able to get checked out at the hospital. Scans revealed that I had suffered a small blood clot in my brain, known as a Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA).

Upon further examination at the University of California, Los Angeles, it was discovered that I had a hole in my heart called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). The blood clot had traveled through this hole into my heart and then escaped, making its way to my brain.

I underwent a successful PFO closure procedure and am now feeling fantastic. It’s important to remember that prompt medical attention can make all the difference in situations like these.

In the same year that Hailey encountered her health issue, Justin also went through a similar ordeal. Specifically, in 2022, Justin Bieber was diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a condition that led to temporary facial paralysis and necessitated the cancellation of his Justice World Tour. In an Instagram video at the time, he described the condition as an attack on the nerve in his ear and facial nerves, causing full paralysis on one side of his face. He mentioned that blinking with one eye, smiling, and moving his nostril were affected. The singer also shared that it became increasingly difficult for him to eat, but eventually, the paralysis subsided. Hailey reassured fans on Good Morning America, stating that Justin was doing well and recovering nicely from the unexpected situation.

In the beginning, Jamie Foxx chose not to reveal much about his hospitalization in April 2023. However, later on, he shared his experiences during a Netflix special titled What Had Happened Was… in 2024.

He narrated that one day in Atlanta, he was experiencing such a severe headache that he asked for an aspirin. Unfortunately, before he could get the medication, he passed out. He recalled, “I don’t remember being unconscious for about 20 days.”

Upon visiting a doctor who administered a cortisone shot and sent him home, his sister Deidra Dixon took notice of his condition and drove him to the hospital. There, they discovered he had suffered a brain bleed which led to a stroke.

Twenty days following surgery on May 4, Jamie found himself in a wheelchair and was unable to walk. He then traveled to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy.

He expressed his gratitude for every prayer said on his behalf, acknowledging that he needed all of them during this challenging time.

Emilia Clarke, who is known for her role in Game of Thrones, had a life-changing experience off-screen. In 2019, she penned an essay titled “A Battle for My Life” for The New Yorker.
In the essay, she recounted an incident at the gym where she was struck by a severe headache. She described her experience as, “I made it to the restroom, fell to my knees, and vomited profusely while the pain—sharp, piercing, intense—escalated.”
She was rushed to the hospital for a brain scan where she was diagnosed with a subarachnoid hemorrhage, a potentially fatal type of stroke.
The surgery to seal the aneurysm was painful, and during recovery, she experienced aphasia, speaking incoherently.
A week later, the aphasia subsided, and she was discharged from the hospital after a month’s stay. However, a follow-up scan in 2013 revealed that the growth had doubled in size, necessitating another surgery.
She underwent a second operation, this time through her skull. Fortunately, she shared that she is now “in perfect health.

Cori Broadus, daughter of Snoop Dogg, expresses her gratitude towards her family.

Following a “severe stroke” in January 2024, her loved ones quickly gathered by her side.

In December 2024, she shared with TopMob News‘ correspondent Will Marfuggi, “I texted them that I just had a stroke and sent them a picture. Everyone rushed to my aid.”

Unfortunately, due to other medical issues, Cori’s hospital stay was extended beyond her initial expectations.

“I could have been discharged after the stroke,” she continued from her role in Snoop’s Fatherhood: Cori and Wayne’s Story. “However, my lupus wasn’t doing well, and my kidneys were failing. There was a lot happening.”

Today, Cori is on the road to recovery.

“I’m doing well,” she added. “I just needed to regain some motor skills. Other than that, I was okay.

In her twenties, Shailene Woodley’s health took a toll, leading to various issues including hearing loss, extreme fatigue, and stomach problems. During an interview on the SHE MD Podcast in September 2024, she revealed this challenging time, stating: “I was seeking answers because it got to the point where I couldn’t walk for more than five minutes without needing to rest for hours, and everything I ate upset my stomach.”

To find a solution, Shailene—who has a holistic background in herbalism—decided to work with both conventional medical doctors and independent healers. This quest for wellness took ten years, during which she also grappled with the emotional fallout of her physical discomfort.

“As I navigated my physical pain,” Shailene explained, “I developed a fear of food, which led to body dysmorphia, confusion about my identity, and feelings of insecurity in my own skin.” After addressing both her physical and mental health concerns, Shailene is now feeling much better. She shared, “It was a difficult journey, but I am physically healthy now, and I’m grateful for that.
