As a seasoned viewer of Below Deck, I can’t help but empathize with these crew members who find themselves in turbulent waters. Each of them has their unique story and journey, much like the sea that they navigate on a daily basis.
Aesha Scott is getting an early start on her wedding guest list.
The recently-engaged star from Below Deck Mediterranean hinted that several of her Bravo celebrity friends might receive invitations to her upcoming wedding with partner Scott Dobson next year.
“On ‘Watch What Happens Live’ on July 29, the Chief Stew excitedly expressed that there are far too many to mention regarding her upcoming wedding. She did, however, confirm that Captain Sandy is definitely among those invited.”
In her sharing, Aesha mentioned that she’d like Tzarina Mace-Ralph (the chef from Below Deck Down Under C), along with Joe Bradley and Nathan Gallagher (deckhands from Below Deck Med season nine) to be present. However, she hinted that at least one former cast member is not included on the list.
Regarding the upcoming event, the person from New Zealand implied that Mila, known for her role as Chef on Below Deck Mediterranean’s fourth season, is unlikely to attend. Instead, they plan to ask Mila to handle the catering instead.
Mila was fired by Capt. Sandy after just three charters over her less-than-stellar culinary skills.
To refresh your memory, Mila is well-known for whipping up nachos using mainly store-bought components like jarred goods and canned fish. Moreover, her initial attempts at making pancakes from a pre-packaged mix didn’t go smoothly.
Plus, she licked a piece of raw meat.
Lately, Aesha announced that she and Scott are looking forward to a prolonged engagement following his beach proposal in her hometown in May. This is due to their desire to allow ample time for their loved ones to make travel arrangements.
She shared with TopMob News that she intends to provide ample time for members of this worldwide community to accumulate savings, transforming it into a meaningful vacation. The reason being, she wishes to tie the knot in beautiful New Zealand.
As for the possibility of Sandy officiating the nuptials?
“She won’t be the one to officiate my wedding since our relationship is quite intimate but not at a level where I’d entrust such an important role to her. However, she will most certainly receive an invitation and I’m looking forward to having her there as a guest.”
In the meantime, keep reading to look back at Mila and more shocking firings in Below Deck history.
Below Deck Mediterranean airs Mondays at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
One key takeaway from Camille Lamb’s dismissal during Below Deck season 10 is the importance of not being complacent at work. This is why Camille was let go by stand-in Captain Sandy Yawn, as Fraser Olender persistently pointed out Camille’s unprofessional conduct on the yacht.
Instead of getting caught drinking during charter preparations or staying out too late partying, Fraser told Captain Sandy that this was the final incident, the “straw that broke the camel’s back,” so to speak.
In this situation, I find myself serving as the unifying factor. A wonderful individual with a captivating spirit, yet we must prioritize the needs of our seafaring vessel above all else.
In the latest series of “Below Deck Adventure,” which aired in November 2022, Kyle Dickard was dismissed after only three episodes. This was due to his conflicts with fellow deckhand Nathan Morley and his public displays of affection with crew members while guests were present. Instead of being formally fired, Captain Kerry Titheradge offered Kyle the chance to resign, sparing him a mark on his personal record.
Kyle took the Captain up on his offer and left the boat after just one charter.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it this way: During season seven of Below Deck Mediterranean, Captain Sandy made the tough decision to part ways with bosun Raygan Tyler. It wasn’t just about the minor damage caused during docking – though that was certainly a factor. More importantly, Raygan fell short when it came to leadership. He didn’t rise to the occasion as a team player or a leader when the going got tough, and that simply couldn’t be overlooked.
However, Captain Sandy wished to avoid her dismissal from disheartening the bosun. Instead, she informed Raygan, “Given more time and if I weren’t managing a vessel of this scale, I would mentor you. I would instruct you.”
Apart from romantic entanglements on the job and disregarding instructions, one major factor that led to the dismissal of stew Elizabeth Frankini on Below Deck was an incident in the laundry room. This incident occurred when she carelessly mixed bleach with laundry detergent, creating a harmful mess.
She expressed her regret to TopMob News about an incident in December 2020, saying, “I didn’t realize how harmful that was, and I truly feel remorseful.” She added, “You see, Francesca [Rubi] suggested, ‘Let’s handle it elsewhere.'”
Captain Jason Chambers dismissed both the bosun and the steward due to unsuitable conduct following a night of celebration with their yachting colleagues, as it transpired.
Luke Jones was dismissed following an incident where he found himself in Margot Sisson’s bed, unclothed, while she was intoxicated and unconscious. Similarly, Laura Bileskaine pursued Adam Kodra inappropriately even after he had expressed disinterest in a romantic involvement with her.
Jason made it known that consent was a must, and sent both crewmembers packing.
The conflict between crew members Lexi Wilson and Chef Mathew Shea reached its peak in a heated argument during season six of Below Deck Mediterranean. In this confrontation, Lexi made an offensive comment to Matt, stating that his parents should have chosen not to have him. This remark proved to be the final straw for Captain Sandy, who didn’t hesitate to dismiss Lexi from her position shortly after the incident.
Tom Pearson, the deckhand, bid farewell to “Below Deck Sailing Yacht” following his dismissal by Captain Glenn Shephard. The parting came after Tom failed to inform the captain that the boat’s anchor was moving due to heavy winds one night, potentially endangering everyone on board. This action led to a disagreement between him and the captain, resulting in Tom’s departure from the vessel.
Captain Glenn stated on “Watch What Happens Live” that it was an unfortunate situation which required a tough decision. Essentially, he acknowledged that it wasn’t the desired choice, but one that needed to be made. In simpler terms, he admitted that someone had messed up and had to leave, leaving us short-handed, and we had to accept that reality.
In the reality TV show “Below Deck Down Under,” Ryan McKeown showed a selective approach towards cooking, critiquing the food preferences of guests and often resisted constructive feedback from Captain Jason Chambers.
It’s quite possible that Ryan’s departure from the Below Deck series stands out as one of the most noteworthy exits, given that he exposed his backside to both Jason and viewers as he left the boat.
In the reality series “Below Deck Down Under,” crew member Magda Ziomek was let go due to poor work performance. Frequently seen engrossed in text messages or video calls with her boyfriend, Chief Stew Aesha Scott chose to replace Magda ahead of the charter season’s conclusion.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but share that it was me, Peter Hunziker, who parted ways with Below Deck Mediterranean back in June 2020, following a regrettable social media post that didn’t align with the show’s values and standards.
“On Below Deck Mediterranean, Peter Hunziker was fired due to a racially insensitive comment he made. To reduce his visibility on future episodes, Bravo and 51 Minds are adjusting the editing process.”
On the reality show “Below Deck Mediterranean,” Captain Sandy dismissed Chief Stewardess Hannah Ferrier following an incident where bosun Malia White found out that Hannah had not declared her personal Valium for anxiety and also possessed a vape pen.
In the interview with TopMob News in August 2020, Hannah expressed, “Given another chance, I would have declared them immediately upon joining,” indicating that she regrets not disclosing certain matters from the very beginning. She clarified that her actions were not intentional and she had no intention of concealing anything.
As a devoted follower, I find myself reflecting on my recent experience aboard the yacht during Below Deck Mediterranean’s sixth season. Initially, I joined the team to lend a hand under Chief Stew Katie Flood. However, it soon became evident that my presence was causing more trouble than help. After just one charter, Katie made the tough decision to part ways with me, sending me on my way as swiftly as I had arrived.
Delaney expressed to Bravo Insider that he believed Katie felt overpowered by the current situation, leading her to consider returning to their previous state as a potential solution. He added that Katie seemed to be struggling under the weight of everything happening and the input she was receiving.
Shane Coopersmith, one of the deckhands, struggled to keep up during season eight of “Below Deck”. He ended up getting fired due to his lack of knowledge in essential skills, frequent tardiness, and even taking short naps while at work.
The disarray in the kitchen during season three of ‘Below Deck’ resulted in Captain Lee Rosbach relieving Chef Leon Walker from his duties. An oven fire caused the chaos, and though Captain Lee accused Chief Stew Kate Chastain of the mishap, he was ultimately the one who had to leave the ship.
Similar to multiple cast members of the franchise, Chris Brown from Below Deck was dismissed during season five due to not fulfilling his responsibilities adequately. Following his termination by Captain Lee, Chris expressed his feelings as he departed the vessel with the casual remark, “Who cares?”
Chef Mila Kolomeitseva was dismissed by Captain Sandy during the fourth season of Below Deck Mediterranean due to her inability to create high-quality dishes for the guests, even with some subpar nachos on the menu.
As a lifestyle expert, I can certainly relate when I say, “I must admit, stepping away feels quite disheartening at times. After all, those of us with larger-than-life personalities often need a gentle reminder of our place in the world. Yet, this humbling experience fuels my determination even more.”
In some cases, team members may struggle to collaborate effectively. This was precisely the reason Captain Lee decided to let go of Chandler Brooks in season six of Below Deck, expressing his sentiment to the bosun, “I believe this arrangement isn’t ideal for us.”
