AEW Dynamite 250: Tony Khan Shares His Fondest Memories Not Caught on Camera

As a long-time wrestling fan and avid viewer of AEW Dynamite, I can’t help but feel a sense of awe as we approach episode 250 of this groundbreaking weekly show. Tony Khan and his team have truly revolutionized the wrestling industry with their innovative storylines, exciting matches, and unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality content week after week, even during the most challenging times.

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) marks a milestone with the 250th episode of their weekly television show, “AEW Dynamite.” Launched in October 2019 on TNT, AEW transitioned from an occasional pay-per-view entity to a consistent weekly product. Despite challenges like a global pandemic and scheduling disruptions, AEW has never skipped a week of producing “AEW Dynamite,” making it one of the enduring episodic programs in recent history. Over nearly five years, this show has documented some iconic moments for AEW, though not all have been recorded on camera.

Tony Khan Shares AEW Dynamite Superlatives

As a gamer, I had an exciting chat with Liam Crowley from ComicBook before the upcoming AEW Dynamite 250 on TBS. During our conversation, AEW President Tony Khan reminisced about some of his favorite moments while producing AEW Dynamite over the years.

After the thrilling Thunder Rosa versus Britt Baker Lights Out match in March 2021, I looked back on it fondly. It was a heartwarming moment to be surrounded by everyone, sharing in the afterglow of that exceptional encounter. The crowd stood up and applauded them with great enthusiasm.

As a fan, I would express it as: “I was thrilled when Shaq joined AEW. His short stint gave us unforgettable moments like his feud with Cody Rhodes and teaming up with Jade Cargill. Shaq, an idol of mine, went the extra mile for us. He showed kindness to everyone – from crew members to talent backstage, and even some enhancement wrestlers. His warm demeanor set a remarkable standard of what a true leader and big star should be.”

Last week’s episode featuring the Owen Hart Foundation Cup Tournament and Dr. Martha Hart’s presence at AEW Dynamite was truly remarkable for me. It was the first time this tournament concluded on our show, and every moment was extraordinary, making it one of the best episodes we’ve produced.

In addition to the unrecognized instances, Khan praised several moments that were broadcast on AEW Dynamite, naming them one after another at a fast pace.

Liam Crowley: Favorite AEW Dynamite debut?

Tony Khan: Sting at Winter is Coming 2020. The arrival of Sting.

Liam: I feel like I could’ve predicted that one. Favorite AEW Dynamite return?

In Atlanta during February 2020, Tony arranged for Darby Allin’s AEW Revolution battle against Sammy Guevara to occur following the Jon Moxley vs. Jeff Cobb bout.

Liam: Awesome. Favorite AEW Dynamite title change?

I cheered as Mr. Brodie Lee claimed the TNT Championship title in Daily’s Place, bringing an exciting end to Saturday Night Dynamite following the NBA playoffs.

Liam: I still remember the pin, when he didn’t hook the leg. Favorite AEW Dynamite promo?

Tony: It was truly moving when Jon Moxley made his return from treatment and addressed the fans. The authenticity of that moment left a deep impression on me. I hold Jon in high regard, both professionally and personally. I am deeply grateful to him for his contributions to wrestling and to my life.

Liam: Favorite AEW Dynamite match?

As a long-time wrestling fan with a deep appreciation for the artistry and intensity of professional grapplers, I’ve had the pleasure of witnessing some truly unforgettable matches in recent memory. Two bouts that left an indelible mark on me are Tony’s picks: Hangman Page versus Bryan Danielson from Winter is Coming 2021, and Thunder Rosa against Dr. Britt Baker in a Lights Out match at St. Patrick’s Day Slam 2021.

AEW Dynamite 250 goes down at 8 PM ET on TBS.
