AEW Eyeing Texas for Major Event in 2025: Report

As a long-time fan of All Elite Wrestling (AEW), I’m beyond excited about the rumors swirling around the potential for a major event in Dallas, Texas, in 2025. AEW has been teasing fans with promises of bigger and better things since the company’s founding in 2019, but we’ve yet to see a major pay-per-view event in the Lone Star State.

Texas has been a popular location for professional wrestling for several decades, and now, according to Fightful Select, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) is allegedly planning to secure a deal with Dallas, TX, for a significant event in 2025. Insiders familiar with the matter suggest that this could potentially be a stadium spectacle similar in scale to AEW’s most prominent events. If the agreement comes through, an official announcement is predicted by year-end. Currently, AEW is scheduled to host a series of shows in Arlington, including Collision tapings and Ring of Honor’s Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view.

AEW fans based in Texas have long expressed their desire for a significant pay-per-view event from All Elite Wrestling since its establishment in 2019. However, the company has yet to organize one. In 2022, AEW held the “Winter Is Coming” television special in Garland, and the organizer expressed his intention of making it an annual event in Texas. So far, this plan has materialized, with last year’s “Winter Is Coming” happening in both Arlington and Garland.

If the significant occurrence mentioned in the report is the AEW All In event, this represents a significant challenge for AEW as they have yet to stage an American show in a stadium of that size. The AT&T Stadium is comparable in capacity to Wembley Stadium, where around 80,000 spectators gathered last year. In contrast, WWE hosted WrestleMania 38 at the same venue in 2022 with an attendance of approximately 65,719 on the first night and 65,653 on the second.

AEW’s upcoming major event, known as “AEW All In,” is coming back to London for its second edition. The main bouts have recently been confirmed: Swerve Strickland will keep his AEW World Championship against Bryan Danielson, who won the 2024 Men’s Owen Hart Cup. Meanwhile, Women’s World Championship contenders Mariah May and “Timeless” Toni Storm will face off. As per WrestleTix’s most recent report, approximately 41,000 tickets have been snapped up, with a capacity of 51,314 in total.

It’s difficult to picture Will Ospreay missing out on the roster once more this year, considering he hails from England and holds the current International Championship title. However, the question of his opponent adds intrigue. WWE has recently let go of a past champion who shares an extensive history with Ospreay. If WWE is saving his debut for a significant occasion, it could be just as grandiose as any other.
