At AEW All In, Willow Nightingale, the CMLL Women’s Champion, finally exacted revenge on Kris Statlander by teaming up with Tomohiro Ishii against Stat and Stokely Hathaway. Now, she’s taking her retribution to another level, as she has chosen a Chicago Street Fight for their match at All Out. Nightingale is not just seeking revenge on Statlander but also intends to deliver a harsh message through this brutal choice of match type. This kind of fight promises to be particularly effective in conveying her strong feelings towards her former friend.
Former Friends, Bigger Rivals
Previously, Nightingale and Statlander were always together, supporting each other through thick and thin. However, at AEW Double or Nothing, Statlander viciously attacked Nightingale, marking a turning point. Statlander has been working independently since then, with Stokely by her side. The duo aims not only to boost Statlander’s career but also influence Willow’s. Over the past few months, they have become a significant hassle for Nightingale.

In an interview with ComicBook, Nightingale discussed her ongoing feud with Statlander and the reasons behind it persisting. She acknowledged she could let it go, but in the world of professional wrestling, settling scores is part of the excitement. “You know,” Nightingale remarked, “when people hear wrestling, they often think of rage, anger, ups and downs, but heartbreak is a particularly difficult one to move past. Kris Statlander is someone I was friends with for so long, even before AEW existed.”
“Being betrayed by her and having a significant moment tainted by her meddling is painful. While I could choose to be mature and seek another friend, this is professional wrestling. Instead of moving on, I’m turning my sadness into anger and wanting to fight her. However, I don’t have the power to demand a match. I can only hope that my boss will arrange something very intense given my current volatile feelings towards Kris Statlander.”
