As a long-time fan of high-flying, acrobatic wrestling, this match between Ricochet and Will Ospreay has been a dream come true for me! I can still remember the electric energy that filled the arena when Ricochet made his AEW debut at All In. And now, after months of anticipation, these two incredible athletes will finally face off in a highly-anticipated International Championship match during the upcoming five-year anniversary of Dynamite.
Fans of All Elite Wrestling (AEW) have been eagerly anticipating a specific showdown since Ricochet first appeared in AEW at All In, and that’s against Will Ospreay. Since then, these two AEW heavyweights have crossed paths several times, but last week Ospreay deliberately provoked Ricochet to boost his win count for a Title challenge. On tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Ricochet retaliated against Ospreay by announcing that he had arranged a fight for the International Championship, which will take place during the upcoming five-year anniversary celebration of Dynamite.
A Long Time Coming
Following another victory in tonight’s episode, Ricochet encountered Will Ospreay who seemed to apologize for their previous confrontation. However, Ricochet dismissed the apology and shared that he had been pondering over Ospreay’s words for some time. He explained that since joining AEW, everyone seemed more focused on challenging him, as if they needed to prove themselves superior to Ricochet. Ricochet then challenged Ospreay, stating that instead of others constantly calling him out, it was the other way around – nobody seemed interested in confronting Ospreay.
5 Years of Dynamite
Next week, you’ll be occupied with Kyle and working to restructure the United Empire, aiming to capture Tag Team gold. I truly hope you succeed! However, I hope you’re not too swamped the following week because I’ve followed your advice. You see, I spoke with Tony and managed to secure a match. On October 2nd, which marks the five-year anniversary of AEW’s Dynamite, it will be Ricochet versus Will Ospreay for the International Championship.
“Will, our matches have significantly impacted the wrestling world, and over the past few years, you’ve been exceptional, but remember, I’m Ricochet, and I’m beyond extraordinary. On October 2nd, you’ll understand why. I’ll be seeing you soon, very soon…my brother.” Ricochet left with that statement.
