AEW Superstar Shares New Look At One Piece Ring Attire

In the annals of professional wrestling, numerous stars have openly displayed their fondness for anime by adorning their attire with motifs from popular anime worlds. Notable examples include The New Day, Zelina Vega, Mercedes Mone, and Rhea Ripley, who often appear in wrestling ring donning costumes inspired by major anime universes. Among the most ardent anime enthusiasts in wrestling is Ricochet, who has recently transitioned from World Wrestling Entertainment to All Elite Wrestling. To showcase his new image, Ricochet has unveiled a photo of himself sporting a coat reminiscent of One Piece, further cementing his current persona as a villain.

One striking homage to anime that Ricochet made during his time with WWE was donning a full suit resembling All Might’s costume from My Hero Academia when entering the ring. To enhance his current role as a prominent villain in AEW, Ricochet has adopted a jacket similar to Naruto’s Akatsuki and sported a badge reminiscent of Attack on Titan’s Eren Jaeger. In his latest appearance, the star dons the coat of an admiral from One Piece, a high-ranking military member who has been a constant annoyance to the Straw Hat Pirates. The Horrible Admirals of One Piece

Amongst the World Government’s admirals, there is one military figure who has earned immense disdain among One Piece fans. This individual, known as Akainu or Sakazuki, is infamous for the tragic death of Ace during the Marineford Arc – a moment that still resonates with fans years later due to its emotional impact. Wearing an admiral’s uniform seems to invite animosity, and Akainu is certainly embodying his villainous role effectively.

Fans are eagerly anticipating another showdown between Luffy and Sakazuki, but for now, another admiral has taken center stage. Currently, Monkey D. Luffy, utilizing his Gear Fifth form, is engaged in a challenging battle against the light-wielding Admiral Kizaru. Meanwhile, the appearance of Saturn, one of the Five Elders, on Future Island adds complexity to an already intricate storyline for the Straw Hat crew in this climactic saga that promises to conclude the enduring shonen series.
