As a seasoned gamer who’s had his fair share of wrestling games since the days of WCW/nWo Revenge, let me tell you that the build-up to AEW All In has got me more hyped than a Luchador on a double espresso. Mercedes Mone vs Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D for the TBS Championship is shaping up to be a dental drama of epic proportions!
Tonight on AEW Dynamite, the highly anticipated TBS Championship match is at the heart of one of AEW’s most intense rivalries. Mercedes Mone, the CEO, will square off against Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D., one of AEW’s founding members. This already intriguing clash has been complicated by the recent addition of AEW’s newest recruit, Kamille. All three women played significant roles in tonight’s contract signing segment on AEW Dynamite.
Are You Truly All In
The scene began with the two stars facing off against each other, while Kamille stayed by Mone’s side. Mone challenged Baker’s dedication not only to AEW but to professional wrestling as a whole. Mone argued that Baker’s dentistry profession showed she wasn’t fully committed to wrestling. “Are you truly all-in?” Mone asked. “I’ve been dedicated since I was 10 years old,” Mone stated. “I’ve been helping put women’s wrestling on the map, that’s being all-in. You lack the courage to be fully committed like me because you’ll never match my level, and this Sunday, you won’t defeat me.”
Baker swiftly dismissed that idea, as he stated, “I had the courage, I had the determination, I had the resolve, and I had the audacity. I never considered an alternative plan; I had two primary plans instead. You were one out of four, but there’s only ever been one me. However, you did manage to get one thing correct. I admired you deeply, Mercedes. You paved the way so that girls like myself could advance, so we could be the pioneers and the foundation of the company where you sit today.”
In simpler terms, Baker said, “You had an impact, but unfortunately, that person is no longer around. You need to change your arrogant and smug attitude. Instead of being preoccupied with being the highest-paid female in professional wrestling, you should focus on building a legacy that inspires people like me. I’m unsure where the old you went, Mercedes, but I hope you can find her soon. And I hope you find her quickly because when I win the TBS Title at All In this Sunday, it’s the old you that I want to be able to say I beat.”
Sweet Revenge
At that point, Baker sealed the deal with the contract, making the match official. However, Baker wasn’t through just yet. Although Baker promised to adhere to the rules of no fighting or confrontations before All In against Mercedes, she had reached her limit with Kamille. In a swift move, Baker struck Kamille, sending her back. Not long after, Mone also left the ring. With the TBS Championship in hand, Baker triumphantly raised it aloft as the segment came to an end.
