AEW's Kris Statlander Cheats to Get CMLL World Women's Title Shot on Dynamite

As a seasoned gamer of the squared circle, let me tell you, I was on the edge of my seat during that Eliminator Match between Statlander and Nightingale! The bad blood between these former allies really shone through, making for an intense and gripping contest.

Previously close companions transformed into fierce adversaries, Kris Statlander and Willow Nightingale clashed in an Eliminator Match. If Statlander won, she would receive a chance to challenge for the CMLL World Women’s Championship. With Stokely by her side, their animosity towards each other was evident, demonstrating the deep-rooted tension between the ex-allies. The match remained unpredictable for most of the contest, but later, Stokely managed to hand Statlander a chain and divert the referee’s attention, enabling Statlander to knock out the Champion with the chain without receiving a disqualification. As a result, Statlander emerged victorious and secured a Title shot, however, their confrontation with the Champ wasn’t over, as they inflicted another violent assault in the ring before leaving the scene.

Bad Blood

Statlander initiated the battle with a thunderous top rope dropkick, following it up with booming chops. However, Nightingale skillfully evaded a charging attack that sent Statlander crashing into the corner, retaliating with her own series of chops and kicks. Eventually, Nightingale unleashed a potent elbow strike before executing a suplex, aiming for the victory but Statlander managed to survive.

In the heat of the match, Statlander believed she’d connected with a hit, but Nightingale swiftly evaded it and continued her offensive outside the ropes, propelling Statlander into the safety barrier. Regrettably, Statlander’s cannonball move missed its mark as Statlander moved out of the way, causing Nightingale to collide with the barricade instead. Seizing the opportunity, Statlander attacked Nightingale, who was momentarily weakened, and slammed her onto the steel steps. She then attempted a pin within the ring, but Nightingale managed to avoid defeat by kicking out.

As a relentless gamer in the wrestling ring, I never gave Champ a moment’s peace. I constantly yanked on her jaw and shoved her into the turnbuckle, attempting a cover that Nightingale almost foiled. However, I swiftly regained control, pinning Nightingale’s neck against the ropes. Nightingale fought back, but I quickly sent her crashing down again with a series of elbow strikes and followed up with another hold.

As a fervent admirer of the wrestling spectacle, I found myself on the edge of my seat as these two titans engaged in a fierce exchange of blows. Nightingale retaliated with consecutive lariats, swiftly followed by a spine-crushing maneuver that seemed to seal the deal, but Statlander miraculously managed to roll free.

Things Go Sideways

Outside the ring, blows were exchanged between the two combatants. Nightingale hoisted Statlander high and delivered a massive Death Valley Driver onto the ring edge. In a swift move, Nightingale targeted Stokely, even striking him at the back of his head. However, Statlander managed to retaliate and bring Nightingale into the ring, only to be met by the Champion’s counterattack. Seizing an opportunity, Nightingale caught Statlander airborne and slammed her down hard. Yet, Statlander miraculously kicked out of Nightingale’s pin attempt.

In the match, Nightingale positioned Statlander on the top rope, but was knocked off balance by a headbutt and Statlander executed a 450 splash for a near-pin. Just as it seemed like Nightingale might survive, Stokely handed Statlander a chain, distracted the referee, and allowed Statlander to use the chain to strike Nightingale, rendering her unconscious and securing the pin and a shot at the CMLL Title. Statlander didn’t stop there though; she grabbed a chair and assaulted Nightingale with it before exiting the ring.
