As a long-time AEW fan and avid gamer of professional wrestling, I was absolutely shocked by the latest turn of events during last week’s Dynamite. Toni Storm’s betrayal by her protege Mariah May left me reeling, and I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw May come out in full Timeless gear to taunt her former mentor.
Last week on AEW Dynamite, Toni Storm’s reign as AEW Women’s World Champion took an unexpected turn with a shocking betrayal from her protege, Mariah May. During the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, May managed to secure a title shot against Storm at All In, but the celebration was short-lived as May suddenly turned on her mentor in a brutal heel turn. Tonight, May made her entrance in Toni’s signature “Timeless” gear, adding insult to injury. Inside the ring, she explained the reasons behind her betrayal and why she chose to do it now rather than sooner. Initially, she admitted that she hadn’t planned for things to unfold this way, but she enjoyed stringing Storm along. With All In on the horizon, however, May saw an opportunity too good to pass up.

May deceived several people with her convincing Timeless Toni Storm appearance, featuring a black-and-white filter. However, she eventually entered the ring and confessed that although her betrayal was anticipated by some, the question wasn’t if she would turn on Storm but when. This moment came following her victory in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, and everything became clear once All In took place.
As a gamer, I’ve got to admit it: we all knew it was only a matter of time before Mariah made her move. Everyone except Toni Storm seemed to see it coming. But Mariah, oh Mariah, what took you so long? I didn’t think this power play would last as long as it has, but man, it’s been fun watching it unfold! I mean, who wouldn’t want to see just how far they could push the envelope? But then came Wembley, and I realized there was no need to take the old horse out back. Why settle for a quiet end when you can make a grand spectacle of it in front of a crowd?

The last time we watched, Storm was injured and feuding with May, who had turned on their friendship and humiliated her publicly. However, Storm isn’t going to let that be the end of things.
