AEW's Mercedes Mone Retains TBS Title on Dynamite, Britt Baker Gets Payback

As a seasoned gamer of wrestling lore, I can confidently say that the upcoming AEW All In match between Mercedes Mone and Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. for the TBS Championship has my heart racing! The build-up to this epic showdown has been nothing short of thrilling, with Hikaru Shida standing bravely in the way on tonight’s Dynamite.

As a passionate fan, I can’t help but feel the excitement brewing for the TBS Championship showdown at AEW All In between Mercedes Mone and Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D., but unfortunately, Hikaru Shida stood as an obstacle in realizing this highly-anticipated matchup. Tonight, on Dynamite, Shida had her chance to challenge Mone for that coveted Title, a fact she didn’t overlook. Shida started the fight aggressively and managed to put Mone in tough spots multiple times, but each time it seemed like she was gaining momentum, Kamille would interfere to give Mone an edge. In the end, Mone seized Shida’s Kendo Stick, allowing Kamille to deliver a powerful boot that left Shida unconscious for long enough for Mone to secure the win and retain her Title. However, before the segment ended, Britt Baker made a striking declaration.

A Worthy Challenger

As a devoted admirer, I’d rephrase it like this: Momentarily, Mone and Shida found themselves in a brief standstill, with Mone skillfully thwarting Shida’s growing momentum. A swift slam from Mone elicited the CEO dance, but following a misjudged shoulder tackle by Shida, Mone capitalized with a roll-up and countered her move into a crossface. In an instant, these stellar athletes exchanged counterattacks, leading to a daring double attempt at a dropkick, alas, both maneuvers fell short.

They locked up again but Mone connected with a big kick to the stomach and some big forearm strikes, but Shida hit a jumping knee strike and then delivered a bevy of punches to the head of the Champ. Shida hit a suplex and went for the cover, but Mone kicked out before the 2 count. They traded covers once again and then continued to reverse each other’s moves, but then Shida slammed Mone’s face into the turnbuckle That led to Kamille interfering but the referee caught it and made her back away.

After Monet struggled to maintain her balance on the turnbuckle, Shida forcefully knocked her off onto the wrestling mat. Kamiille intervened, getting in Shida’s space, which Monet took advantage of by pushing Shida down to the floor. A pin attempt was made in the ring, but Shida managed to kick out. Monet executed a Meteora move, but immediately after, she was shoved away, causing some annoyance from the titleholder.

1. Mone executed a standstill in the middle of the ring followed by a double-knee attack at the corner. However, she couldn’t secure the win as Shida managed to survive, which seemed to frustrate the Champion. In response, Shida retaliated with a head kick and stood up, but Mone effectively halted her resurgence again. Later on, Mone pushed Shida towards the corner, only to receive a dropkick from the contender in return.

In Mone’s dwelling, Shida executed strikes, including a knee strike to the head, followed by a cover attempt, but Mone managed to push herself free at the count of 2. Subsequently, Mone retaliated with a backstabber and attempted another double-knee strike, yet this time Shida dodged the move, retaliating with a kick aimed at Mone’s back.

Close Call and Payback

In a swift turn of events, Mone bolted out of the ring towards the floor, only for Shida to quickly chase after and push Kamille aside. Before striking the enforcer with a kendo stick, Shida attacked. Mone snatched the kendo stick from her hands, creating a distraction for the referee that allowed Kamille to deliver a powerful kick to Shida’s head. In the end, Mone executed the Mone Maker move and pinned her opponent, successfully retaining her TBS Championship.

At that moment, Britt Baker’s music played, prompting Kamille to rush out, attempting to intercept Baker from the ring. Instead of confronting Baker directly, Kamille assaulted someone in the crowd who wore a mask similar to Baker’s, but Baker found an alternate entrance and donned her glove before engaging Mone in combat. Baker nearly applied the lockjaw as well, but Kamille managed to rescue Mone before the hold could be applied.
