View Urgent ForecastAt All In, it’s a battle between Title and Career as Bryan Danielson goes up against AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland. The animosity between these two popular AEW stars has escalated rapidly. Normally, when your career is at stake for the Title, the stakes don’t get any higher, but Swerve managed to make things even more intense for Danielson during tonight’s Dynamite. Swerve defeated Wheeler Yuta with Danielson watching, and then continued to assault him after the match, luring Danielson into the ring. Things got even more personal when Swerve brought up Danielson’s daughter in his attacks.
Making Things Personal
Following Swerve’s victory over Yuta, Danielson rushed over to check on him, but Swerve had further matters to address. Continuing to provoke, Swerve pressed certain buttons and then aimed a particularly cruel remark at Bry, saying, “Bry, you’ll make sure your family is in order because the very spot where you sat, front row, where you watched me disfigure Wheeler Yuta, is exactly where I’m going to do something to you in front of your daughter. I’ll force you to retire because that’s what I’ll do when I incapacitate you.”
That drew quite a reaction from the crowd, and Danielson then went back to check on Yuta. All of a sudden Swerve raced back in and attacked Danielson, kicking him in the head and standing tall over both Danielson and Yuta. Swerve then added insult to injury by doing Danielson’s famous Yes celebration, and he had a good portion of the crowd chanting along.
A Bitter Rivalry
Previously, Swerve has been alluding to Danielson’s statements about not taking a full-time role and prioritizing family time. Furthermore, Swerve has criticized Danielson’s health issues on several occasions, suggesting that his body is struggling under the pressure of being the AEW World Champion and that it might not be able to sustain the weight of the title.
Danielson might counter those criticisms by asserting that he will put in his utmost effort in the ring no matter his state of mind, and further assure that he’ll be fully committed throughout the event. Swerve then questioned whether Danielson could endure until All In, and declared his intention to dismantle Danielson, which again brought up the topic of family.
On this occasion, things took a deeply personal turn as Swerve brought up Danielson’s family and hinted at their need to witness Swerve’s victory over him. In response, Danielson proposed wagering his entire career against the AEW World Championship, a risk Swerve agreed to, further escalating the tension for the upcoming match.
