After Five Years, a Hit My Hero Academia Series Is Ending This Weekend

As a long-time fan of Kohei Horikoshi’s incredible work, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia and sadness as the end of “My Hero Academia: Team-Up Missions” draws near. Having grown up with these characters since their debut in 2014, I’ve watched them evolve and mature over time, and seeing this spin-off come to an end feels like a chapter of my own life closing as well.

What makes “Team-Up Missions” so special is its ability to delve deeper into the lives of Class 1-A students and the side characters who often get overshadowed in the main series. Through Yoko Akiyama’s skillful writing, we’ve been given a unique glimpse into their daily lives and struggles, making us care for them even more than before.

I remember eagerly awaiting each new chapter release and devouring every volume as soon as it hit the shelves. The series has been a source of joy and excitement for me throughout my teenage years, and I can’t help but feel a pang of sadness knowing that this weekend marks the end of an era.

That being said, I can’t wait to see how Yoko Akiyama ties up loose ends and sends off these beloved characters in style. I have no doubt that the final chapter will be a fitting tribute to all the hard work and dedication poured into this spin-off over the years. And who knows? Maybe we’ll even get a sneak peek at what the future holds for our favorite heroes!

On a lighter note, I can’t help but wonder if Deku and Bakugo will finally settle their long-standing rivalry once and for all… or maybe they’ll end up as roommates in college? Only time (and the final chapter) will tell!

As the festivities for the conclusion of “My Hero Academia” and the gradual completion of the final volume come to a close, it appears that Kohei Horikoshi’s successful superhero saga is nearing its end. Notably, devotees of this series might soon need to say goodbye not just to “My Hero Academia”, but also to its popular spin-off, “Team-Up Missions,” which will conclude in 2025 after a five-year run.

According to Amazon Japan’s official listings, the February 2025 issue of Saikyo Jump will feature the last installment of Yoko Akiyama’s popular spin-off series, “My Hero Academia: Team-Up Missions”. This concluding chapter, Chapter 52, is set to be released on January 4th, 2025. At this time, no additional information has been given about what the final chapter will entail.

My Hero Academia: Team-Up Missions To Wrap Up Its Run in 2025

Composed by one of Horikoshi’s proficient helpers, Yoko Akiyama, “Team-Up Missions” has been running in Saikyo Jump for approximately half the duration of the primary series. While not as widely acclaimed as other spin-offs like “Vigilantes“, “Team-Up Missions” undeniably holds its own charm by providing a glimpse into the everyday lives of Class 1-A students and the many less-illuminated side characters from “My Hero Academia“.

So far, the spin-off series has been compiled into 7 books, with the most recent one published on December 4th, 2024. Currently, five of these books have been translated into English, and Volume 6 is scheduled for release on March 4th, 2025. Unfortunately, it might be a while before non-Japanese fans can read the final chapter of Team-Up Missions, as the eighth volume is expected to be released in Japan sometime between August and September 2025, based on the pattern of releases thus far.
