Agatha All Along: How The Series Follows Up WandaVision

Agatha All Along: How The Series Follows Up WandaVision

As a seasoned Marvel fan with years of binge-watching and theory-crafting under my belt, I must say that the upcoming series “Agatha All Along” has piqued my interest like never before! The trailer alone has set the stage for an intriguing continuation of the events from WandaVision, leaving us fans in a frenzy.

The latest trailer for “Agatha All Along” provides insights into how this Marvel Cinematic Universe series continues the storyline from “WandaVision”. As viewers may recall, Scarlet Witch and Vision’s Disney+ series concluded with them parting ways (it was a bit confusing!), while Agatha Harkness was left under a spell by Wanda Maximoff. In the trailer for “Agatha All Along”, Kathryn Hahn’s witch is freed from her enchantment by Joe Locke’s enigmatic teen character, who goes by the name of “Teen”. This youngster wishes to accompany Agatha and her eclectic group of magic practitioners on their journey along the Witches Path. It promises to be an unusual adventure, in keeping with the distinctive style of “WandaVision”. Take a look at the new trailer for yourself, which is available above.

As a passionate WandaVision fan, I couldn’t help but feel another thrill during the latest sneak peek when Locke’s character attempted to speak his name but was left silent. It seems our mysterious Teen has been silenced by some sort of enchantment that sews his lips shut. To add fuel to the fire, the magical gag on his lips appears in the form of a cursive M, a clear hint towards the ongoing “Mephisto Watch” during Agatha All Along. You know, back when WandaVision first premiered, there were whispers that the villain would make an appearance and orchestrate all the chaos surrounding Elizabeth Olsen’s Avenger. Although it’s not a certainty, the recent hints and teases seem to be a direct acknowledgement of those theories from back then. So, we might just be in for a surprise visit from Mephisto after all!

Is Scarlet Witch Dead?

In the climactic scene of “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” Wanda Maximoff made a selfless sacrifice by destroying herself and Mount Wundagore, along with the Darkhold, to safeguard all her alternate children from the perilous chaos magic. Marvel has confirmed that she died during this incident. However, there’s speculation among fans about a potential Scarlet Witch resurrection in “Agatha All Along.” The likelihood seems promising given the likeness between Joe Locke’s character and an older version of Billy Maximoff. But we won’t know for sure until the Disney+ series premieres.

According to the Official Marvel Timeline book, a compassionate 838-Wanda comforts the sorrowful Scarlet Witch by assuring the boys they will be cherished. Meanwhile, in Universe-616, Wanda Maximoff gives up and brings about the destruction of Wundagore, collapsing it onto herself, thereby eliminating two major dangers to the entire Multiverse.

Joe Locke Plays Coy About “Teen”

The intrigue surrounding “Teen” will remain a hot topic until Agatha: All Along debuts on Disney Plus in the coming weeks. However, Empire Magazine attempted to unravel the mystery during a recent interview with Joe Locke and showrunner Jac Schaefer. During their chat, Locke aimed to alleviate fan concerns by stating that he’s not what people perceive him to be. Sadly for Locke, this ambiguity will persist throughout the series until a revelation occurs that either validates or contradicts his assertion.

Locke explained, “He acts like an apprentice to the coven; he’s a familiar.” The boy has a deep interest in witchcraft and witches, and being mentored by Agatha Harkness, forming his own coven, and embarking on the Witches’ Path is his dream. He’s quite enthusiastic about it, really immersed in this world. It’s exciting – I was too!”

Later, this enigmatic gothic teenager (portrayed by Joe Locke from ‘Heartstopper’) appears in her life. Schaeffer further explains, “It’s his suggestion to traverse the Witches’ Road to restore her powers. However, to embark on this road, you need a coven. So, how does a witch who is not trusted manage to gather a group of sisters?”
