Agatha All Along’s Joe Locke on whether he’d reteam with Kit Connor amid Hulkling rumours

As a film enthusiast with a penchant for all things Marvel and a soft spot for heartwarming LGBTQ+ dramas, I must say that the potential collaboration between Joe Locke and Kit Connor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is an exciting prospect! Their chemistry as Charlie and Nick in Heartstopper was undeniable, and if Locke’s character indeed turns out to be Wiccan, then Connor as Hulkling would be a fantastic choice.

Discussing potential future collaborations, Joe Locke has been asked about the possibility of working with Kit Connor once the series “Heartstopper” ends, as speculation persists that they might team up again within the Marvel Universe.

Locke and Connor portray the roles of Charlie Spring and Nick Nelson respectively, characters in Netflix’s series about LGBTQ+ relationships, who experience romance while navigating complex issues like revealing their identities publicly and maintaining their emotional well-being.

I’m thrilled to share that I’ll soon be stepping into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, specifically in the Agatha All Along miniseries. In this intriguing tale, my character goes by ‘Teen’, but as the story unfolds, it seems we’ll discover his true identity by the series finale. The suspense is killing me!

Many Marvel enthusiasts are musing over the possibility that the character Locke might actually be portraying an older version of Billy, one of the Scarlet Witch’s twin sons, who grows up to be the sorcery-skilled superhero known as Wiccan and a founding member of the Young Avengers.

Should this scenario unfold, there’s an apparent pick for who should portray Billy’s boyfriend – Teddy, also known as Hulkling – and that’s Connor, given his physique and on-screen compatibility with Locke, which is crucial for pulling off the role effectively.

Instead of diving right into another project together so quickly, especially one involving them portraying boyfriends once more, don’t you think it might be a bit soon? However, based on his responses, Locke appears quite eager for such a collaboration.

Keep in mind that, since Jac Schaeffer, the creator of Agatha All Along, is skilled at using misdirection (red herrings), it’s possible that Locke may not actually be a Wiccan character in the MCU. Therefore, fans might want to manage their expectations for now.

Among the other young superheroes he might encounter, Locke is particularly eager to meet a specific Marvel hero who already exists at the pinnacle of his dream encounters.

He went on to say, “I find Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel an incredibly fascinating character. If it’s Marvel’s plan for her to join the Young Avengers, as she does in the comics, then I believe they would have a great friendship.

In the show “Agatha All Along,” it’s been verified that the character Teen is gay, a detail some fans see as connecting him with Billy. However, creator Locke emphasized that while this aspect of his identity is part of the character, it isn’t the primary defining characteristic of who he is.

To others, it’s much more significant than it was for us, and that’s wonderful in my opinion,” he continued. “This aspect simply aligns with the character of Teen, rather than being a key element of his persona.

Although it’s featured in the show, it’s not the defining trait of his character that I admire most – it’s more like a step ahead in portrayal.

Agatha All Along premiered on Disney Plus on Thursday 19th September. New episodes weekly.
