Earlier today, I had a fleeting moment of excitement thinking I’d stumbled upon evidence suggesting the porting of Microsoft Flight Simulator to PS5. A new Trophy list, dubbed “Flight Simulator 2025”, was detected by PSN Profiles, leading enthusiasts like me to think that an Xbox port rumor might soon translate into a PS5 version just over the horizon.
It’s possible that by the end of this year, games such as Microsoft Flight Simulator, Halo, and Gears of War could potentially be available on PlayStation 5 as well, according to some trustworthy predictions. However, the trophy list that appeared was just another instance of the AI imitators, like “Eslop,” which have been inundating the PS Store for quite some time now.
2025’s Flight Simulator has a PlayStation Store wishlist page that mentions Grizzly Games Limited as the developer, but it seems this might not be accurate. In an interview with Eurogamer, one of the two developers at Grizzly Games, Paul Schnepf, stated that their name and logo are being used unlawfully in the listing.
In addition, they appear to embody the very antithesis of our principles, of what we represent and strive to offer to the gaming community,” Schnepf went on. “Regrettably, as a two-person independent team, our legal options are restricted. However, I would be thrilled if such practices could be halted, particularly since they’re not only affecting us but many other indie developers who lack the legal might.
It seems that Flight Simulator 2025, allegedly uploaded to the PlayStation Store, was possibly uploaded by a company disguising itself as another. Eurogamer conducted an investigation before receiving Schnepf’s statement and discovered a Grizzly-Games.com website filled with AI-generated mobile games, but the links to the Google Play Store were dead ends. It’s plausible that this listing originated from the questionable Grizzly Games rather than the genuine one which developed Thronefall for Nintendo Switch and PC.
Last month, it seemed like Sony was removing AI-generated games from their digital store, but the recent addition of Flight Simulator 2025, featuring AI art, and uploaded by a company trying to impersonate someone else, indicates that this issue persists.
