Al Pacino Reveals He Was Once Nearly Kidnapped by a Fan

As an ardent admirer of Al Pacino‘s illustrious career and indomitable spirit, I find myself in awe of his harrowing encounter with a would-be kidnapper during his cross-country journey. The story, recounted in his new memoir “Sonny Boy,” is a testament to not only Pacino’s quick wit but also his street smarts honed from his upbringing in the South Bronx.

Al Pacino made a swift exist after encountering a fan who was out of order.

In his recently published memoir titled “Sonny Boy”, the 84-year-old reminisced about an unruly evening, which took place after sharing drinks with Gene Hackman’s brother, Richard Hackman, during a long road trip. This incident led him to make a hasty decision – accepting a lift from an unknown individual.

In his book, he mentioned, “A woman offered to give me a ride home, and without hesitation, I accepted her offer and got into her car.” However, as we journeyed, I realized in my haze that she wasn’t actually taking me back to where I was residing. (Source: Paraphrased from People)

As he recalled, she wasn’t shy about revealing her scheme when inquired about her actions. So I asked her, “What seems to be happening?” To which she replied bluntly, “I’m abducting you.” The Academy Award recipient further added.

As a devoted admirer looking back, it’s clear that even with his breakout success in The Godfather already making waves, I could perceive her actions as more than mere flirting. Being a native New Yorker, I was well-equipped to navigate such situations, and quickly found a way out of it.

Originating from the South Bronx, this individual shared that they are adept at avoiding confrontations with overly eccentric individuals. In his own words, “If someone attempts to harm me, I instinctively know how to evade such situations.” When faced with a similar scenario, he asserted, “No, you’re mistaken. I’m leaving.” Despite her insistence, she continued driving.

To emphasize my stand, I dramatically swung open the door as if to exit the vehicle hastily. Although slightly intoxicated, I was prepared to jump out of a moving car if necessary. This is not going to happen to me, friend.

Eventually, his warnings about leaving the car resulted in her driving him to where he resided in the end.

Al Pacino, who is a father of four children, recently expressed his wish to pen down a memoir and contemplate on his life experiences, following the birth of his latest son, Roman (16 months old), with ex-partner Noor Alfallah. Apart from Roman, he also has Julie Marie (35 years old) with another former girlfriend, Jan Tarrant; and twins Anton and Olivia (both 23 years old) whom he shares with actress Beverly D’Angelo.

In an interview with the BBC on October 14th, he expressed a desire to remain part of his child’s life, stating, ‘I want to be here for him,’ and added, ‘I hope that I am and will continue to be.’
