Alexa Bliss Makes Long-Awaited Return to WWE TV

Tonight’s SmackDown kicked off with an exciting bout related to the United States Championship, followed by a focus on the WWE Women’s United States Championship. Earlier discussions with Nick Aldis led Zelina Vega to agree to find a tag team partner to face Chelsea Green and Piper Niven. When it was time for the match, Vega unveiled her secret partner – none other than Alexa Bliss. Absent from TV since before WrestleMania, it’s great to see Bliss back in action on SmackDown once more.

In the initial confrontation with Green and Niven, Vega initiated the action. At one instance, Vega was preparing to tag, but Green seized Vega’s hair and chopped it off. Quick on her feet, Vega evaded Green only to be intercepted by Niven before she could make the tag again. However, Vega was relentless as she executed a DDT maneuver on Niven followed by a tag that placed Bliss in contention against Green.

In this wrestling match, Bliss brutally knocked Green off balance using shoulder tackles, followed by a powerful counterattack involving double knees strikes against the ropes. Bliss didn’t give Green any room to recover, swiftly slamming her onto the mat and coming close to pinning her down. However, Green managed to struggle and kick out. In an unexpected turn of events, Green was suspended upside-down on the turnbuckle, where she received a strong dropkick from Bliss.

In the final moments, Bliss ascended to the top rope and executed Twisted Bliss onto Green in a pin attempt, but Niven miraculously prevented it at the very last second. Next, Vega attempted Code Red, receiving a helping hand from Bliss via a head-kick, followed by Vega’s meteora taking down Niven on the floor. Sister Abigail was then unleashed onto Green by Bliss, effectively ending the match with a victory for our protagonist.

Regarding what lies ahead for Bliss, only time will tell, but it’s fantastic to have her back on our screens again. However, there were no clear indications about the Wyatt Sicks in this latest appearance, which has been suggested as a potential future plotline for Bliss. While it’s possible that we could see a story involving the Wyatt Sicks, it seems like we might also get a standalone storyline for Bliss without any group ties.

In the storyline for Bliss, there was an unexpected turn of events later in the episode. After Charlotte Flair delivered a promo that drew boos from the crowd, she had an argument with Aldis backstage and stormed out of the arena. However, Bliss intervened and stopped her, saying “Let’s talk” as the show went to commercial break. This encounter raises questions about whether we might see them teaming up in the future. It could potentially lead to a Triple Threat match involving one of the Women’s Championships, though this is just speculation. Regardless, this development has piqued interest, and while we wait for further details, you can find the full card for Backlash below.
